"Help Me Make It Through The Night" has got to be in my top 10 favorite Willie songs. I just listened to the original recording version and Willie's voice was so powerful in that song. Yes, powerful yet soothing and friendly at the same time.

That was by Kris Kristofferson.. My dad used to sing that one and play it on his old hollow-body Gibson acoustic..

Didn't realize K.K. had written that one.
It's true what Seamus said about the classiness of Willies' covers. I just listened to him do "Heartbreak Hotel" on the Ipod. His version is my favorite cover of that tune.

I think the lawsuit thing would go over so much better if some of these MILLIONAIRE survivors would just pare off a mil or two in a separate account for legal actions. There are surely several MILLIONAIRE survivors out there... That's the last thing the Semblers would expect, LOL... WOOPS, they have what? MILLIONS OF $$$ TO FIGHT? Hmmm... Then the suits would get somewhere.

Amen! It's gonna take some serious $ to put together a case that has a chance of winning. A big law firm with a good investigative dept. would be able to put it all together but somebody is gonna have to shell out the $ to get it going. If I had it, I would, and I know alot of other people feel the same way. I agree with RG, where are the millionaire survivors? There has to be some out there.

Athens eye movement?    Just dont cover that insipid shiny, happy, people thing.....imho a pandering, insipid song. :nods:

So true, that song makes me cringe. Sad, cause I really like REM alot but that particular tune makes me wanna hurt something every time I hear it.
"Don't Go Back to Rockville" is one of my favorites. When I was in Atlanta Straight I spent my last few months there living with a family in Rockville. They were such nice people, I think about them every time I hear that song.

And what about the blunt smoking incident on the White House roof? Only Willie can lay claim to this distinction. Wasn't this some of Jimmy Carters' relatives that took him up there to light up? Apparently the Prez didn't puff it but his family sure did. Me: Hey Willie, hows the view from the White House roof? Willie: Its High man, really high!
LOL

so even as far as what willie covers, hes got great taste.

I got a real charge out of the video he did singing "Gravedigger" by the Dave mathews Band. For those of you who haven't seen it. Do yourself a favor and UTube it asap. Willie is dressed all in black, standing at a grave with a shovel. The vid was really well done IMO.

Willie Nelson is well known for his generosity. It landed him in trouble with the IRS years back when he was giving away more than he earned. People would hit him up with a hard luck story and he would write a check. I'm so glad that he has made all that $ back and so much much more. He deserves it.

Let It Bleed / Willie Nelson tribute thread

This thread is dedicated to the living American legend, Willie Nelson. I want to invite everyone to post their favorite Willie songs/lyrics, Willie stories, trivia etc.
So Willie just got picked up again for weed possesion in Texas. The cops searched his tour bus and found Willie's stash as well as that of his entire crew. It was a hefty haul for the local redneck cops that did it. Did you know that Willie went out of his way to claim resposibility for the entire stash so that the cops would only arrest him and let his crew go. Thats right, Willie took the rap so his buddies could slide. As if i didn't already love this man enough. He takes it on the chin so that his roadies wont have to spend the night in jail with him. Realizing the potential public relations nightmare this arrest represented for the police dept, Willie was released from custody pretty quickly.

The first song that hooked me on Willie's music was Angel Flyin Too Close To The Ground. It remains one of my favorites.
"So I patched up your broken wing
And hung around awhile
Trying to keep your spirits up
And your fever down
But I knew someday that you would fly away
cause loves the greatest healer to be found
So leave me if you need to
I will still remember
Angel Flyin too close to the ground"

Chill out, smoke a fatty, have a cookie, and don't let that shit eat you up any more than it already has.
ps I just can't sleep either.

Absolutely some of the best advice I have ever seen given on Fornits.  Particularly the "smoke a fatty" part.

Agreed! Dr.None-ya has the cure for what ails you.

Alot of folks seem to get upset when former staff are publicly confronted for their past sins. When I went on FB and called out a couple of staffers for their BS I was on my own. Not one other person joined in to "get my back". For awhile I thought I was just an asshole. Then i realized I don't give a shit. Like me or don't like me, that is their choice. I'm gonna keep calling it like I see it. I despise unrepentant former staffers.

Obviously no one had your back because they're nothing but a bunch of ASSHOLES on that site..not too hard to figure out (I don't go there, but it sounds like I don't need to in order to make this assessment.) Bunch of fucking jerks most likely, probably saying stuff along the lines of "you should get over it" and "it's time to move on," and all that crap.

You know it. A gaggle of toolbags telling each other how bad they needed it and shit like "we all have to remember where we came from". I remember where i came from alright. When I landed at Straight I had smoked some weed and had a few beers. Wow, yeah what a fuckin addict I was at age 15.
You know what though, I'm sorry for even implying that anybody even should "have my back" or whatever. I know each person does what they can handle. I quit FB anyway.
As to the topic of this thread. Although I never personally witnessed it, I heard rumors of many many things. Where theres smoke...

Yes, they should have called the police..and yes their inaction was/is illegal...
It happened to me too in there, Botched...only it was while I was trying to sleep...and it came from my oldcomer.

I recently got group attacked on fb for confronting my primary executive staff counselor for not reporting it.

KHK'ers that were not even in there with me group attacked me...They had NO right..and I have every right to confront a demon of mine...simply b/c it is mine to confront.

Then i got banned from the group and everyone that defended me did too...BTW the ones who defended me were STR8 survivors. I laugh when people (khk'ers) say that str8 ws worse than khk ...really? Is that why str8 survivors actually have the balls/tits to confront the abuse and bs head on instead of pussy footing around it like most khk'ers do? REALLY?

makes me want to just  ::puke::

Black Sabbath--Black Sabbath

I think this first one may be the best album they ever recorded... There's something about it, a certain raw quality..

Master of Reality is good start to finish, too.. but doesn't have quite the energy the first one has.

Absolutely, from the Wizard, Sleeping Village etc its probably their best stuff. i liked all their albums. Sabotage appealed to me alot as well. great stuff!

Gotta bump this post back to the top, When I originally wrote the post last year my ex-fiance and myself were splitting up...
How Ironic is is that almost a year later we start talking again and she wants me to come back home, I am sort of hesitant at this point, but it is really where I want to be. She is wanting me to come back at the first of the year as it is too late now for me to come home for Christmas. She claims that she did not realize what she had till it was gone. I am already submitting resumes and half way made my decision to go...

Out of curiosity do you guys think I am crazy ?? ??

I wish you the best either way, Botched. Merry Xmas.

Sorry, I'll respond more later maybe. I'm just still in shock that Whoot believes he is owed an apology from Anne or anyone else regarding this issue. Wow!
