so to you punk is mroe about presentation? see to me thats maybe 20% cuz anyone can post as a punk but can they back it up in every other way? or maybe im not followin ya?
Bear with me here.. it's just that that sort of thing smacks of poseurism..

Again, I'm not claiming to be that familiar with their music...yet..

no i understand. just was trying to shed some light...

Heres a question since you aren't familiar with their music, which is a bit silly happy and stupid (There music not you LOL). in what way would their music imply or not imply they were posing?  Since they aren't trying to be punk. meaning im trying to see what their music would need to sound like for you to think they WERE posing rather then not.  Just Curious. Figured since you hadnt heard them yet itd would be interesting to know what your view would be say if they actually sounded hard core punk vs. sounding not punk at all.

anyway im just replyin to what your sayin no worries i know you aren't as familiar with them.  im not a fan of posers myself. I think the thing i like most about them is they are just funny as fuck.  I dont think in 10 years they made a single political or social statement in their music.  Which is one reason they broke up, one of the Band members wanted   a bit more depth in the music he was playing.

I certainly don't want to get into an argument about music.  We've all got common ground, it sounds like.

I like the guitar player in Blink's Signature Strat.  One pickup, one knob.  That's a punk guitar.

oh I dont mind a good debate about music with the right people. especially seeing who's discussing it both of you at least can put forth a good argument. all thought i think the actual Topic about poser punk bands we all pretty much feel the same way about.

i just got on a "i love blink" tip and i am not ashamed although  LOL i would be if i liked good charolette lol

no need to lump them in with the rest when they've made it a point in interviews and everywhere else to not label themselves a punk rock band.
Well excuse the general public for making that mistake..   :P

I don't really care that much what they say, it's more about how they (or anyone) present(s) themselves.

im just sayin the MASSES are IGNORANT ASSES!

so to you punk is mroe about presentation? see to me thats maybe 20% cuz anyone can post as a punk but can they back it up in every other way? or maybe im not followin ya?

I hate metros who spike their hair; like to see them get a good ass-kicking.

now THAT I couldn't agree more with.. i hate it too...

i had , HAD, a friend recently, really good lookin guy, very earthy, a taoist etc.  got a bit of an ego  recently (good taoist eh? LOL) and he went and got a very nice LOOKING mohawk it made me sick. what a waste of a good mohawk and now he thinks he's like some kind of bad ass. as if the mohawk has some how transformed him.

anyway to me thats a total turn off. definitely dont LIKE the fact that MIDDLE class white america has to steal every fashion statement cuz they are too lame to dress themselves, just saying it happens and its hard to know who the fuck you are looking at anymore these days! definitely cant judge a book by its cover anymore. used to be able to get away with that.

and since when is punk about a look ? you will always have people who like to dress that way but dont live that way. more power to them as long as they aren't frontin
Definitely never said it was; the point is that they (blink) seem to be all about frontin'.

Well granted, I haven't listened to much of their..um shit, so I'll leave it at that for now...

well i think the media has chosen to portray them that way and thats why they were very vocal about it. the other bands dont Give a fuck they are getting paid. although the guys from blink have dipped into several genres of music outside of their band.   anyway its all good i actually read an interview long ago by them and just have mad respect for their crazy asses since.

are you kidding? no they dont LOL
Come on... the spiked hair, etc..? Pfft.

uh and? LOL so what, thats fashion THAT took over along time ago there is no stopping that./ i have no problem with some one spiking their hair and not being an anarchist or truly punk meaning the 2 dont have to go hand in hand. To me punk is mostly a state of mind just like someone can surely be punk and have on a suit. I these kids, blink (they are in their mid 30s now)  were dressin like that in high School before they were a band, big deal.

I just respect the fact that they publicly state they aren't trying to be a punk band they are just having fun.  FFS they sing about midgets and tits and run around naked in their Videos.

90% of spiked haired people in our country are not punk if not more, But i dont think that one thing should lump them in with a group of true posers. They are not POSING as something else they are straight up about it and i respect that.

I tend to not assume someone is punk or trying to act punk based on a Fashion statement.  I see a mohawk about every 10th person when i walk down the street and this is so NOT a punk City .  Or do you think white kids who wear hip hop gear REALLY think they are black and are fooling us all? LOL ;)

Fashion has become so mixed up and CONVOLUTED LOL that you really cant use that as an argument these days. Although I will say its kinda sad. I liked it back in the day when i would SEE someone and know without a doubt that was A punk mother fucker! LOL i mean real punk. NOW a days, you Cant do that.
