The Troubled Teen Industry / What Happened to ISAC?
« on: January 09, 2004, 12:20:00 PM »
The ISAC board has never been very active: it lacks critical mass.  Who needs it when you have Fornits?

My hosting provider has received 4 letters by courier, one of them from Spring Creek Lodge, the other three varying between requesting the removal of some postings and demanding that they discontinue hosting my websites.

What did SCL have to say and who were the other letters from?  Are any of these people threatening legal action as well?

Ginger, have you actually been served with anything yet?  This thread is somewhat long on opinion and short on facts.

Web forum hosting / Anon Tally

I guess this is determined from the IP address.  It might be useful to have the same number displayed against users' messages so we can tell if two anon posts are from the same person or a different one: it can get very confusing sometimes.  However, there could be some confusion between users who share ISPs.

I would love for WWASPS to begin residential treatment for the whole family - mom and dad right next to junior

Me too, treat the parents the same way as they treat the kids.  I'd love to see that!

At least we can agree on something.  I don't think it would last too long though.

Why would this even be necessary? Did the lawsuit crash and burn or something?

I don't know what is happing with the lawsuit but even if it is filed today it will probably run for years.  WWASP have the resources to fight it all the way.  There is no harm in fighting on more than one front.  Anyway, the lawsuit is a civil matter between the parties involved.  If there are regulatory or criminal matters that need investigation then they are an entirely separate issue.

None of the material or processes or anything about the program or the seminars is secret or mysterious or, in fact, anything that hasn't been written down in books for quite some time.

Can you direct me to an account of a TASKS seminar that:
1. Details exactly what happens.
2. Does not claim that the participants take a vow of secrecy.

Of the thousands of kids in a wwasp program, I know of only one that died. I think she bolted from the group in what could have been a runaway attempt.

She didn't bolt, she was given permission to leave the room to get something.  She took the opportunity of being unsupervised to jump from the upper floor of a building.  Though Jay Kay likes to make out it was an escape attempt, I have read nothing that says it was anywhere near the perimeter.  You are also forgetting at least two others who killed themselves when their parents threatened to send them back.
