Do you think it's more than just ironic that every time I read "Fr. Cassian" I accidently say "Fr. Cashin"?

I was just gonna ask who else here saw "Not my Kid". What a joke. I saw it on TV in Canada where there was a discussion before and afterwards. They said that particular treatment center "went a little too far, but there is a better one in Calgary now." I agree, a realistic movie is needed.

Anon, I wouldn't have a problem if someone came in here and did announce their beliefs in religion or politics, even if I disputed it. Perhaps what you might be upset about is Lady's deffinition of the word "wrong". In Synanon type programs they are saying that drugs are wrong in a sinful type way. They say that anyone who uses drugs is a wrong person, or that they have it all wrong. We were told that everything we did in our lives up until the program we were in was completely wrong, and drugs were the highlight of our wrongness. I don't see any harm in stating that drugs are not okay, as long as that persopn is not coming here to manipulate you out of your ways, or treat drug users as if they are less than, and from what I've read lady was not doing that.

I don't think she's saying that there's something wrong with people who do use recreationally Anon, just that they aren't good for you.

Has anyone else here read Alexia Parks's An Amerian Gulag? Or have you been to teenliberty.org? If you have then you know the story, if not Alexia wrote the book and created the site after a young relative of hers was "escorted" to a few schools including Bear Mountain Academy (Yeah, the one where three boys beat a newcomer to death and left his body outside so that they could get police into the school in hopes of getting free'er), Loving Hearts and Safe Harbour.

Her sister (the mother of he "escorted" teen) has been posting negative reviews at Amazon.com saying that Alexia's story is a fantasy. She also argues that children are not "innocent" as stated in Gulag, and that Columbine should prove that! That's right, two kids murder so all of them are evil! What does that make us adults?

Having read the book it sounds 100% truthful to me, and I've read up on those schools elsewhere. If you would like to help out go to Amazon.com and post a review or something about alexia's cause. You can also "rate" whether or not other people's reviews were helpful, which can push their posts up or down on the readers list.

It's a joke, I can't remember if it was Kathyor Ginger who came up with it. He's followed all the same footsteps as Dr. Miller Newton but considers aarc to be the kinder-gentler Kids. Kathy what was the new more appropriate nickname you came up with? Well Little Miller is good enough for me.

I haven't been to a rave in years, but I have friends who still go. When I was going they were all love and fun, probably the safest place to go and dance. But even though they exagerated on that article, some of it is true. In BC exstacy isn't the most popular drug, but among teens it is. It's now the first drug that they try over pot, which says a lot considering that BC is sort of pothead/headquarters.

There are predators at raves, just like anywhere else. Sinse they went mainstreem obviously more and more are going there, also since they went mainstreem lest "oldskoolers" hang out and instead it's the club scene for kids. I know girls who were raped after being slipped GHB at raves.

In some cities they'll serve alcohol at raves, which kind of depletes the purpose! Those "raves" end up with fights just like a regular bar.

Just another newspaper over reacting and jumping to conclusions. I agree that there are more diseases and rapes in school. The reporter or police officer interviewef had an active imagination about those sex orgies - makes you wonder if he'll do "research" now.

Common Sense
Banned Bill sure is able to post a lot for a banned person. He keeps saying that he doesn't care about us and that he's going to go away, but yet he keeps coming back! I think deep down in his heart...He really cares about us.

Gr8ful, you really need to get a better security so that Logo and Herd Enuf stop using your computer. Either that or you need to get enough sense to figure out how we know who's posting under other nicks.

Because when Velvet is logged in she's Velvet, and when she's not she's Elle. Isn't that simple gr8ful2aarc/Logo9/herd enuf?

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Dumb Question

Re: shut up
He left Kids of North New Jersey because his apprentice was finished, and then he quickly returned right to Kids of The Canadian West. Must not have disliked it too much then. Then social services stuck their noses in and the whole Kids of The Canada idea started to fall apart, so he thought of way to do it by himself. This is exactly how he told the story.

No Different
Shitty, some of you are getting brain washed!!!!

"truth teller" didn't just find this board he's been posting here all along. All of you need to remember that there are only two people "defending" AARC. They are staff, and one is the owner/"clinical director" of the program. They are here to "defend" because if they don't they will loose their income.

AARC had to change some things in order to get off the ground, and though I don't believe that Vause liked it, it turned out to be great for AARC. Fattening instead of starving kids looks great. Giving them the necessary amount of sleep that Social Services had them abide by turned out for the better, and not restraining kids as often for as long was better for their reputation too. But They do restrain, so don't let them try to say it doesn't happen, it happens fairly regularily. They restrain for anyone who's out of line, like tries to walk out of group (or anywhere they aren't supposed to be) or whenever anyone tries to "run" even if they legally were allowed to do so.

"In a way AARC perfected the Kids Centers of America. The restrictions layed upon them by the government allowed them to pretty up the program. It gave them time to throw heart wrenching homecomings, and fancy graduation ceremonies."

Anonymous source, but a suiting quote.

For those who went through other Straight based programs, you need to think about which was the most damaging, being restrained or having "blast raps" all of the time. I personally could have died due to not being allowed medical attention. I think that's a pretty serious threat against a kid.

Another great example of people defending Cults is the movie Not MY Kid about parents taking their child through Kids Centers of America. Has anyone here seen that?
