Hmm to know Sarah Welch you would of have to of been there around my time.  Not sure why you would have a problem with her because if I remember correctly she wasnt particularly mean to anyone and kind of just did her own thing. No big deal and not a reason to say anything bad about her.

Im pretty sure I know who started this thread. Why the anonymity?

Thats it exactly, I have found numerous old buddies of mine through this site and enjoy discussion on the topic.  It just seems to have gotten so convoluted with nonsense its hard to pick through the useful topics.

It is clear that with all the anon posting around here this forum is going way off topic and straight into stupidity.  I have created a yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cedux/.  Posting requires membership although anyone can view.  If you wish to stick to CEDU topic and get away from the personal bashing please feel free to visit and contribute.

Once again, it is located at

No, I don't know how that whole crap got started.  most likely has something to do with the fact that there was a farm there (and yes some of the stories that followed).  I first attended BCA then got transfered to RMA.

"I really wish that the majority of the people posting on here were at BCA during my time. (96-99)  This was when a very powerful, passionate, HONEST, and loving man named Jackson Culotta ran the school.  I don't know if anyone ever heard the saying "I would never ask you to do something I haven't done or am not willing to do myself".  This was a very popular phrase, but Jackson really lived by this.  The school was filled with NOTHING but drug addicts, alcoholics, VERY promisicous girls, etc.  None of the kids that "couldn't make friends" were there.  There were depressed kids there who wanted to cut on themselves, but Jack wouldn't have that!  I just get sad when I hear stories about staff that I did know acting in a way that they never did when I was there, or new staff coming in and obviously not knowing how to deal with people in a social setting.  I am truly sorry for anything traumatic that ANY of these staff members did to you, but please know that at one point of time, the man running BCA was there to serve a purpose.  By the way, they fired him!  Why?  No one knows for sure.  :???:  But LaTresa was his assistant and then became the head of the school!  BAD IDEA!!! I am guessing that this was when the scheming really began and the school definately took a turn for the worse![ This Message was edited by: If u want to know..then ask on 2005-02-23 15:34 ]"

I would like to say this is BS.  Point 1, if you ask me he was one of the staff who I questioned his motives and methods the most.  There is a difference between passionate and abusive.  I saw him take a flying leap over that line several times.

In terms of the school filled with drug addicts, alcoholics, permiscuous girls etc, yes there were those aspects but that was not 100% of the population, I would say that would be a minority.  BTW i didnt fall into any of those categories.

I was ther from 95-98

Also, there were observations that clinical staff had made about me that were very far from the truth...however, they had been marked as just short of "fact" rather than hypothetical observation. I had myriad staff members referring to me as "severely manic depressive" even though they'd never met me? Don't get me wrong, I get sad from time to time, but I can't think of a single moment in my life that I've been depressed...much less "manic depressive".

Very funny you mention that.  When I was first at BCA I was sent to see a shrink that was there at the time (I don't even believe he had a doctorate because as far as I remember he was working on his dissertation sp?).  This "psychologist" also participated in raps and I have to say had the most appauling rap manner of all the staff I have ever seen at that school (especially to girls). Needless to say if I ever heard someone talk to my (hypothetical) daughter like this man talked (err screamed) to girls, well, we would have a few "words".

But to make a long story short, I was sent to see him when I first got there, had a few sessions and that was it.  Then I want to say a year or so later I was sent to see another psychologist there and after we spoke he said he was very puzzled of the notes the previous psychologist made on my file.  He told me it said things such as I was extreme anti social, borderline psychopathic, uncontrolably violent, etc etc etc.  Basically painted a picture like I was an extremely unstable individual.  Sad to say this is not true.

Its sad to say that this stuff is jotted down and the kids are treated based on such "professional opinion""

Wow, where to start.

The only place I was ever restrained was at Ascent but I have seen restraints at all schools.

I was restrained for headbutting a staff member
I was restrained for running
I was restrained for punching a staff member
I was restrained for attacking a staff member

These were all at ascent and I guess I kinda deserved it.

At BCA I saw a kid get restrained for punching out a window and kicking a door.

At ascent I can't even remember how many times someone got restrained either for refusing to do something or attacking another staff.  It happened so much there its hard to pinpoint events.

Would like to just point out this is horseshit.

Staff: "Do you know why you get out of agreement?"

Student: "Because I don't like the rules"

Staff: "NO!" "IT'S BECAUSE YOUR A GODDAMN CHICKEN SHIT!"

I heard this line in many a raps, verbatim on the "goddamn chicken shit" part.  I know some of you guys who were at BCA when I were remember this one very cleary (hell we all used to imitate it and laugh for hours).
