I'm doing very good actually and it's fun to come back here sometimes to address morons like Honesty, who doesn't have a clue as to what that word means, Oh he knows the Daytop version, you know the one goes
D-do
A-as
Y-your
T-told
O-or
P-pack

I don't need to slander Daytop, they do a good job at doing it to themselves. This was just another prime example of what happens when you let the patients run the asylum.

Hyde Schools / Maine's Child Molester Protection Legislation

I'm just adding my 2 cents to the original post in this thread because quite frankly it I was quite incensed when I found out about that Maine law. However as this article points out it's been on the books for quite a long time and we in Maine will have that legislation changed.

Yes I can read, but can you Honesty? Or did you miss something when you read " Mieliwocki avoided having his license suspended in 1999 for inappropriate behavior with a male patient only by agreeing to weekly monitoring for three years, a consent order showed. Now it would appear to me that this is part of public record that Daytop could have easily accessed if they knew how. But then again when the philosophy is keep the beds filled and asses in seats who would think to actually do backround checks on staff. I wonder what would be revealed if someone outside of their agency did backround checks on ALL of their staff. Hmmm...gee I wonder how many of them revealed their  felony records to licensing boards.

I wonder if they instituted a policy of thorough backround checks yet?

"YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT WHAT DAYTOP IS IN. IF YOU HAD HALF A BRAIN, THEN YOU WOULD KNOW THAT ALL THEIR CLINICAL STAFF WERE GIVEN HUGE RAISES. MAYBE YOU ARE THE ONE ON THE BALLS OF YOUR ASS!!!!"

Yep, I hear they make 12 bucks an hour now! Oh I wonder if this poor fool realizes that cost of living raises are put in all renewed contracts but Daytop hasn't passed it on in years. So what he thinks is a huge raise is really just the interest that Daytop has been taking in for years.

Daytop Village / David Deitch

The basis for his involvement was that he was in treatment there. He graduated, became "classically educated", and the rest is history. I believe he was in treatment around 1960 or so.

Nor will you find the terms Alchoholism or Addiction in the DSM-IV
(Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders). Oh and by the way in the "Big Book" of Alcoholics Anonymous the term "disease" is mentioned 3 whole times. Some where along the line AA'ers became convinced that they were suffering from a disease with no known cure and would have to go to meetings for the rest of their lives to stay in recovery. Even though they steadfastly deny it, AA has become a religious cult. ::cheers::

Daytop Village / David Deitch

I've seen far too many posts questioning the origins of the TC and how it's philosophy has trickled down to other programs. I guess it's time for me to send all those still searching in the grassy knoll to this man.    For those want to see how Synanon was influential in Daytop, Phoenix House, and numerous other programs all you need to do is look up their connection with David Deitch, who by the way is a Synanon graduate. For those interested here is a link to him. ::argue::

Daytop Village / Daytop doesn't deserve to exist

Maia Szalavitz  is forever coming up with flawed information such as that chart. Then you have the conspiracy theorists here on Fornits that follow her as if she was the second coming. Joe Ricci was never associated with Daytop Village in NY. He was at Daytop in Connecticut which is an entirely different organization. http://www.aptfoundation.org/daytop.htm
He spent a short time there then ran off. If she actually did any research as opposed to still looking for the guy in the grassy knoll she might have a shred of credibility.

Daytop Village / More Paintings that Leave Little Question
« on: July 16, 2007, 08:42:40 AM »
As some of you know I have no great love for Daytop as many of their misguided staff do. However I do take exception to people who post anonymously raving about what's wrong with the place. The mere fact that someone has a criminal backround does not preclude them from working in this field. I am most outraged by the comment that HIV infected people are preparing food. If you knew anything about HIV you wouldn't make such an ignorant comment like that. As far as complaints about staff they should be reported to the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services at 1-800-482-9564.

The Troubled Teen Industry / Goodbye to Who
« on: June 05, 2007, 11:59:52 AM »
It's interesting that some of the same people that encouraged his nonsense by going on and on for nearly 300 pages of threads are now happy to see him gone as if their responses to him made any fuckin sense at all either. With some of the other crap I've seen being posted on this site I have also never heard of an individual banned for it such as the links to porn sites posted from time to time. I can't say that I ageed or disagreed with The Who but one thing for sure is I don't agree with censorship and that seems to be the case here.
