OK, so you don't want to actually tell us who you are, but how about making up an alias so the posts aren't so confusing. Something along the lines of MyLifeIsScrewed&itsAllTheirFault.

I will start, from now on I will be DuckPondDiver

Trying to figure out which anonymous said what to the other anonymous makes it difficult to follow the conversation and make sense out of it.

One day an Irishman who had been stranded on a deserted island for over 10 years, saw a speck on the horizon. He thought to himself, "It's certainly not a ship." And, as the speck got closer and closer, he began to rule out the possibilities of a small boat and even a raft.

Suddenly there emerged from the surf a wet-suited black clad figure. Putting aside the scuba gear and the top of the wet suit, there stood a drop-dead gorgeous blonde!

The glamorous blonde strode up to the stunned Irishman and said to him, "Tell me, how long has it been since you've had a cigarette?"

"Ten years," replied the amazed Irishman.

With that, she reached over and unzipped a waterproofed pocket on the left sleeve or her wetsuit, and pulled out a fresh pack of cigarettes.

He takes one, lights it, and takes a long drag. "Faith and begorrah," said the lonely Irishman, "that is so good I'd almost forgotten how great a smoke can be!"

"And how long has it been since you've had a drop of good Irish whiskey?" asked the blonde.

Trembling, the irish castaway replied, "Ten years."

Hearing that, the blonde reaches over to her right sleeve unzips a pocket there and removes a flask and hands it to him.

He opened the flask and took a long drink. "'Tis nectar of the gods!" stated the Irishman. "'Tis truly fantastic!!!"

At this point the gorgeous blonde started to slowly unzip the long front of her wet suit, right down the middle. She looked at the trembling man and asked,

"And how long has it been since you played a round?"

With tears in his eyes, the Irishman fell to his knees and sobbed, "Sweet Jesus! Don't tell me that you've got golf clubs in there too!"

Google my name and you will get 137,000,000 responses. Really, I just did it! I went through the first 5 pages and didn't find a single reference to myself. In fact I didn't realize there were so many Stephen Long's in the world!!!

Get a backbone and stand up for what you say.

This isn't AA! It is a discussion board about a school, not a therapy session.

I am talking about being an adult and letting people know that you are willing to stand up for what you have to say.

And I am not talking about "busting" anyone's anonymity. I am talking about being an adult and letting people know that you are willing to stand up for what you have to say.

I am not associated with Hyde, other than having been a student there. The only reason I found this website is because a friend who knows I went to Hyde sent me a link.

Opinions about what Hyde was or is like are fine. My biggest problem with the Anonymous posters are the ones who make accusations of criminal acts, but won't state their names.

If are not willing to sign your name to such an accusation, you shouldn't make it. I believe many of the posters who make such statements are just being slanderous and I want to make sure that everyone who reads the posts realize that.

What happened in that admissions interview that hooked us all on Hyde, for better or for worse?

This is a very simple answer.  Hyde "hooks us" because we are desperate parents at the time.  Years later after buying into the process, participating to the best of our abilities and going through "the process" we realize how foolish we were.  I can't speak for others, but this is how my family feels.  We have apologized to our daughter and talked to other former Hyde parents about how stupid we were to buy into this Cult and send her there.

I know that some people on this board will dispute what I have said and tell me we couldn't hack it, but that is their perogative. I am happy for anyone who got something out of Hyde. I am not disputing any positives that anyone posts on this board, I am simply telling you about my experience as well as my wife and daughters.  To us Hyde is a disgusting Cult and we feel ashamed that we fell for their crap! I thought we were strong people but obviously I was wrong about this because I allowed Hyde to make us feel weak and vunerable!  It is like going to a bad Psychologist who tries to make you believe you had a worse childhood than you did.  They will try to keep you in therapy for years, Hyde tries to keep you on campus for years even though your child might intellectually be ready to proceed to the next grade level.  I think there are people who will love Hyde.  These are the same people who love the Scientologists and the Hari Krishna's! Strictly my opinion for whatever it is worth!"

Your Opinion has no value,  because you are not willing to sign it and worse yet you hide behind anonymity.  Step up if you really believe what you say.

I actually use my microwave, set on high with the door open to prevent Hyde from finding out who I am......My doctor tells me that doesn't work, so I know it must.

Once again I see a number of people (or could it just be one person having a conversation with him or herself?) whining and making outrageous statements without identifying themselves.

How can anyone take any of you seriously when none of you are willing to back up your statements, innuendoes, and accusations by stating your name?

I am saddened by the lack of integrity, maybe thatÕs why you all probably washed out.

Why do none of you tell us who you are? How can we make any judgement about such statements unless we know what your personal prejudices are?

I am a former Hyde student, I lived there for two years in the early eighties, and I did not graduate with a Hyde diploma but received a high school degree.

I wasn't "troubled, drug abusing, or one step away from jail" when I enrolled and I didn't want to go, but I was very unhappy at home and my folks made me go to Hyde. I had been attending a public school that allowed me to hide in the corner and none of the faculty pushed me to achieve or challenged me in any way. I didn't participate in any extracurricular activities. Hyde made me participate in athletics, theatre, and those experiences made me a much better person. In fact I have had a life long participation in club sports and am now coaching High school athletes because I learned what team sports are really about while at Hyde.

My experience wasn't perfect and I still wish I had done some things differently while I was there, but I am a much, much better person now because of my time at Hyde school.

The people who are posting messages here should sign your name to your statements. I have a really difficult time accepting what people say anonymously. To make statements such as I am reading here on this message board, and not be willing to say who you are is cowardly.

State your name and your history at or with the school so people can judge your statements and evaluate the accuracy of those statements based upon the writers' prejudices.
