that is the saddest story and i am so sorry. from one rebekah sister to another my thoughts are with you. they were evil and those that claim God like the workers at rebekah and even lester will really be punished in a big way by God, i believe God is harder on them. the humility that they caused was discusting not to mention how could they of justified any of that w/ the Bible?
i am sorry for the hell you endured after the home also. when you are having hard times just remember that you ARE a survivor and look what youve gone through already, know that you are strong from it and you can make it. we may give up on God but he never gives up on us.hang in there. we are sisters in spirit as are any survivors of these type of places,no one will ever get it unless they went through what we all did in the homes.

Most of the people that you knew at the Roloff Homes are no longer there. People move, people die. The Homes no longer have underage children. It's just a matter of time before the whole place is gone.

How many persons do you know that are no longer at the Roloff Compound? Are you privy to this information? Do you talk with them regularly? or did you take a trip down there and go see for yourself? Who is the one who told you the facts?
They may not have underage children there, but they do other places
they just move across state boundaries, to inflict thier abuse and misuse of minors.

not true, New Beginnings AND Anchor are still under age. In fact the Roloff workers may be really old now but some of them have retired and actually live on the farm in Corpus

a man by the name of trevor runs anchor in montana. he used to live on the farm in corpus.

Found it online, i have heard bad stuff coming from the stories about Anchor when it was in texas. one person has referred to it as Anchortraz i believe. Although i do not have personal knowledge of it, or this new place in Montana, if it is anything as Rebekah was , it may also be a very abusive place for minors.

This past August I was privileged to travel to Havre Montana, to work at the Anchor Academy for Boys Camp (ACC) under the direction Pastor Trevor Spencer and Bro Dennis McElwrath, this ministry is a blessing for young men that have trouble with authority. Both Pastor Trevor and Bro. Dennis worked in the Roloff Ministries and saw a need for such a facility in the open fields of Montana. Located at a former AirForce Strategic Air Command Base the camp is renovating a vast number of structures.
Seventeen members of Peoples Baptist Church spent a week assisting the ministry in a variety of needs, the CAAS has provided drawings for the relocation for the existing school and the general offices. We also have over a dozen projects that will take place over the course of the next five years. The Largest is the renovation of a radar tower into a five story dormitory. Bro. David and Debby Newby , former members of PBC are on staff at this ministry. Please pray for this ministry.

195 States have ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Only two more States are left ? Somalia and the USA - making the UNCRC the first nearly universally ratified human rights treaty in history!
Somalia - Ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child is not possible at this time. Somalia does not currently have an internationally recognized government.
USA ? the USA has signed, but not ratified.
The US position on the Convention is best summed up by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, who stated: "It is misleading and inappropriate to use the Convention as a litmus test to measure a nation's commitment to children. As a non-party to the Convention, the United States does not accept obligations based on it, nor do we accept that it is the best or only framework for developing programs and policies to benefit children."
The US holds the above position on the Convention for a number of reasons:
Parental Authority - It is believed that the convention will undermine parental authority, interfere with parents' ability to raise and discipline their children, and make the rights of children more important than the rights of parents. In reality, the convention repeatedly refers to the importance of the parent-child relationship, and requires governments to respect the rights and duties of parents.
The Death Penalty - The Convention prohibits the use of the death penalty for offenses committed by persons under the age of 18. However, twenty-five U.S. states allow executions of juvenile offenders, and as of July 1, 2001, there were eighty-five juvenile offenders on death row in the United States. In the last five years, eight executions of juvenile offenders were carried out in the United States.
Issue of Rights - Traditionally, the US has recognized civil and political rights (such as the rights to expression, assembly and due process), but not economic, social and cultural rights (such as the right to education, health care and an adequate standard of living). The Convention includes both.

Exactly! To me a drive to end babies and toddlers being sexually abused and beaten by their parents and or sicko preditors is a much greater worthy cause to have a passion for. Everyone here is an adult now and whats done is done, use your energy for something much greater than yourself its not like anyone can undo what happened there. Oh but lets sit around and talk about a man whos been dead for 24 years and see what we can do to stop him! Meanwhile, babies and little kids are having to endure being raped right here in OUR fricken country and all we can do is talk about Roloff and how we had to pluck chickens or pick beans or whatever off the wall shit. :wstupid:

Did you ever stop to think maybe some people had some unresolved issues they were dealing with and this is the only forum as crappy as it is that they can find to connect with prople and tell their stories because the yahoo group has made it quite clear they don't want to hear it.

Another thing... Some of us haven't talked about our experiences in years or ever been able to look anyone up. When you google rebekah this is where you come so you assume this is where you would leave a testimony. Which is what I did and may others but some reason you don't want us to talk about it. Why? Do you not want people to hear our voice because you support such places?

Actually no I am not a supporter, never have been, I dont see how what im saying makes me a supporter of the homes unless of course i have a target on my forehead just because i know there is no recourse at all in punishing roloff for what he established way back when, id much prefer to help the helpless here and now. What i do is use my past abusive issues (that i cannot change) for good now. I like to talk about what happened and find old friends from Rebekah so thats why im here, we discuss what each other experienced but I will tell you one thing for sure, I wont give the homes the gratification of ruining my life now, they just are not and never were worth it. So read into this what you will, as far as I know ive tried to be quite clean on my meaning but as usual someone will not read it clearly and start bitching

I have seen first hand this place and work with this group of people. They are not abusive and very kind and caring of these young men. I have to disagree with you guys the youth of today is the future and they need to have christian mentors seeing that they do right and leaning to the bible of basis of authority. The anchor is not a bad place.

I was in the lighthouse home 2000-2001 and it is a totally different view from the inside. the church members dont get to see the hell that goes on behind the church scene. they just say oh these guys behave really well they are so disciplined. that is because they dont want to run around a lap track til jesus comes or dig a damn hole in the ground for weeks. maybe you didnt know that .

I wasn't in anchor But my brother was.... And I have to say this It rocked his world he has never been the same. And I do not mean that in a good way. They did bad things to him. Bad things happen to us in life, But when it comes from a religious base establishment it seems to be twice as bad because they use God to hurt people and that is just wrong. :evil: Shame shame shame on you!

I believe you are a caring person, and probably a righteous man. However, we were sent away by our parents to get "fixed". That is the ultimate rejection. We have to live with the fact that we weren't good enough for them, and then we get sent to a place that makes us feel we aren't good enough for God unless we live by their rules. I know that is not what they mean to do, but it is the message we as young, impressionable children received. Adult Christian mentors are indeed necessary, but not in that way. Jesus preached love and condemned the pharisees. It was His love that changed the world, not condemnation. Can't you see the struggle we had to go through to find self-acceptance after the homes?
