Will Attorney DAVID GIBBS III of the CHRISTIAN LAW ASSOCIATION be saying the same things at the MOUNTAIN PARK BAPTIST CHURCH & BOARDING ACADEMY TRIAL as he is saying in the TERRI SCHIAVO case?
Schiavo family's lawyer asks supporters to pray
Mar 21, 2005
PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (B[aptist]P[ress])--
...
"It makes me hurt for America," [David] Gibbs [ III ] said. "I sit here and think, when I went to law school, I never thought we would be doing a case like this. I thought our law was designed to protect life. From the time of The Ten Commandments that say 'thou shalt not kill,' up until today, we were a nation that was to show honor and to clearly look out for those that are weaker.
"What we have today is a young lady [who cannot] talk for herself and right now we have a lot of people in courts that are saying, 'You know what? Your life doesn't matter,'" added Gibbs.
...
"It's almost like God is saying, 'Here America, I'll give you a chance to do the right thing,' and I fear that if we don't start protecting and valuing life, if we don't look out for the disabled, the Bible talks about the widows and the orphans, and those that we are called to defend; there's a blessing when we show kindness to those who are the least of these.

Mountain Park Baptist Church and Boarding Academy ? advertised on their home page :
"Troubled Teen. At-Risk Youth. This Christian boarding school provides proven solutions for teenagers who have been described by these terms. For almost thirty years the Lord has enabled us to offer hope and help. It's time to give Jesus a chance in your child's life."
What that "30 years of experience" includes ? but what they conveniently fail to mention at Mountain Park Baptist Boarding Academy?s webpage - is not difficult to find once you know that it exists.
The "Bethesda Home for Girls" was run by Bob & Betty Sue Wills back in the 70?s and 80?s.
This is some of what was written in the "Atlanta Journal and The Atlanta Constitution" on March 7, 1988, in the National News section, on Page A/1:
Bethesda Home - complete with a modern swimming pool, stable and dormitory beds for 100 - was operated for about 15 years by fundamentalist minister Bob Wills and his wife, Betty Sue....
In Hattiesburg, Wills' fortunes slumped, in part, because of an aggressive Youth Court judge named Dan Wise.
Wise, who describes himself as a conservative Republican, had been hearing rumors about Bethesda Home off and on for years. After one case was brought to his court about two years ago, Wise decided to tour the home.
What he saw, along with what he heard, started a complicated legal proceeding that eventually led to a 1986 raid on Bethesda by state welfare workers, who took temporary custody of the 117 girls living there....
Judges wanted to see the names of the girls he kept. The court restricted the size of the paddles used to discipline the girls. Every new resident had to be told she could leave at any time....
"There is no doubt it was a prison," said Erik Lowrey, a Hattiesburg lawyer who helped several girls after they ran away from the Bethesda Home. "The doors were locked 24 hours a day. They couldn't talk for the first 90 days to anyone. They got licks for things such as chewing gum or whistling."...
Wills declined to discuss Bethesda Home, his plans or what happened to his former residents when Bethesda closed. "I just don't want to ruin it," he said last week.
Although Wills would not discuss his plans, Riley [Bob Wills? own attorney] said the minister has moved his operation to an undisclosed location in Missouri....
Mississippi and Missouri are the only two states that do not regulate or license such homes....
"What we want to do is take them out of their old environment long enough for the Holy Spirit to work on them," Mrs. Wills said in an interview last year with a newspaper published by the Rev. Jerry Falwell....
"I'm so pleased they're gone," said the Rev. Benjamin Bell, an Episcopal priest in Hattiesburg who toured Bethesda Home and interviewed its residents last year. "We had girls who told us they were so hungry they had to eat their toothpaste."...
(Note: Bob & Betty Wills were represented by a lawyer from the Christian Law Association/GIBBS & CRAZE law firm during their BETHESDA days: The families GIBBS & WILLS go way back - they are WELL acquainted!)
Will DAVID GIBBS III, of the CHRISTIAN LAW ASSOCIATION, who was present at the STACY KELLAR v. MOUNTAIN PARK trial, be defending the WEAKER MEMBERS OF OUR SOCIETY - the CHILDREN -- when the September trial date rolls around for the 7 plaintiffs and the MOUNTAIN PARK BAPTIST CHURCH & BOARDING ACADEMY DEFENDANTS? DAVID GIBBS III sat at the DEFENDANTS' TABLE AND ARGUED AS MOUNTAIN PARK'S COUNSEL, ON THEIR BEHALF, IN THE KELLAR TRIAL. Will DAVID GIBBS III be DEFENDING the MOUNTAIN PARK DEFENDANTS in the next trial, too?
Here is a tiny bit of the COMPLAINT filed on behalf of 7 Plaintiffs concerning the MOUNTAIN PARK DEFENDANTS in order to show just how weak and helpless and vulnerable CHILDREN can be, in order that it might be considered whether DAVID GIBBS III was TRULY sincere in the statements he made in the SCHIAVO case - will he PRACTICE what he's been PREACHING and DEFEND THE WEAKEST come September?
Plaintiff, Jamie Kaufmann Woods, was enrolled and attended Mountain Park Boarding Academy in or around Patterson, Missouri, from on or about September 7, 1999 until on or about May 24, 2001.
Due to congenital hearing loss, Plaintiff Woods was deaf and had to wear hearing aids.
Plaintiff Woods has been wearing a hearing aids since she was 6 years old.
Even while wearing her hearing aids, Plaintiff Woods sometimes had a difficult time understanding what others were saying.
Plaintiff Woods could hear and understand very poorly or not at all without her hearing aids.
At the time of Plaintiff Woods? enrollment at Mountain Park Boarding Academy Plaintiff Woods had been wearing a medically prescribed hearing aid.
Although Plaintiff Woods was not wearing her hearing aids at the time that her parents took her to Mountain Park, the staff was immediately informed by Plaintiff Woods that she was deaf and needed her hearing aids.
Plaintiff Woods was required to go without her hearing aid for the first seven to nine months that she was in Mountain Park Boarding Academy.
Upon arrival at Mountain Park Boarding Academy Plaintiff Woods was constantly derided by her orientation guide, Meaghan Richter, for not being able to hear.
The owners and staff of Mountain Park Boarding Academy were well aware that Plaintiff Woods needed her hearing aids.
Defendants undertook to substitute the professional judgment of the doctors caring for Plaintiff Woods with their own arbitrary and medically unqualified judgment that Plaintiff Woods did not require the use of a hearing aid.
On a Saturday sometime in September 1999, around noon, Plaintiff Woods was taken to Betty Wills by her orientation guide for not being able to hear what she was being told while standing in the medicine line. Betty Wills shoved her hand and fingers forcefully into Plaintiff Woods? chest saying that Plaintiff was a liar and telling Plaintiff that she could hear just fine. Betty Wills punished Plaintiff by requiring her to write lines.
After Plaintiff Woods' had made numerous complaints, staff member Christy O'Briant took Plaintiff Woods to an audiologist that tested her hearing and prescribed the most state of the art hearing aids, at the time, and Plaintiff Woods was told, in the presence of staff member Christy O'Briant, that she had significant loss of hearing.
Although the audiologist prescribed hearing aids immediately after Plaintiff Woods was tested, Plaintiff Woods did not receive the hearing aids, but was forced to wait until her parents were allowed to come for a scheduled visit. Plaintiff Woods's parents took her back to the audiologist during a visit, at which time Plaintiff Woods finally received her new hearing aids. This was about seven to nine months after Plaintiff Woods had arrived at Mountain Park.
On learning that Plaintiff Woods had received self defense or martial arts training that she had taken at her previous high school, Defendants began to call on Plaintiff Woods to beat other girls on demand.
On one occasion, Plaintiff Woods was called and told by staff members to ?do whatever it takes' to shut up a mentally challenged 13 year old girl named Felicia Jones who was repeatedly hitting her head against the wall and wailing at the top of her lungs.
On direct orders from staff, Plaintiff Woods beat the Felicia Jones so badly that she bloodied her from head to toe.
Felicia Jones was in a shower at the time. Plaintiff Woods was ordered to wash off her bloody body in cold water.
Plaintiff Woods was forced by the staff to keep Felicia Jones under the freezing cold shower for nearly an hour, so long that the girl's lips turned such a dark purple that they were almost black.
Plaintiff Woods had no choice but to do what she was told or she would have eventually been the one beaten to a bloody pulp. It was either be the one doing the beating or be the one who was getting beaten.
Due to the constant mental and physical abuse, Felicia Jones eventually became totally catatonic and had to be constantly cared for by four orientation guides. Felicia Jones totally shut down and she had to be dressed and undressed, physically bathed by others, and fed by those orientation guides because she couldn't feed herself and would have starved.
Plaintiff Woods is still severely tormented by the memories of what she was forced to do to that young girl even though Plaintiff Woods didn't have a free choice in the matter.
Plaintiff Woods was prevented from telling anybody, even her parents, about the horrible abuses taking place inside Mountain Park Boarding Academy because all phone calls from parents were monitored, all mail was censored, and parents were not allowed to keep anything a child said a secret from the Mountain Park Boarding Academy staff.

Righteous Rant! :nworthy: :nworthy:
They know that it is human nature to take up causes whereby a man may oppress his neighbor, no matter how unjustly. ... Hence they have had no trouble in finding men who would preach the damnability and heresy of the new doctrine from the very pulpit.

Have you seen that fat bastard Gibbs' website? It's http://www.christianlaw.org (http://www.christianlaw.org) if you want a good laugh/barf. I especially like that he has a list of tips for "protecting your church workers from allegations" of child abuse. He promises to reduce the chances of a successfule allegation being made against the children's workers in your church. That's http://www.christianlaw.org/resources_abuse.html (http://www.christianlaw.org/resources_abuse.html) for further inducement of vomiting. Um, by the way, he sells that information for $20. I'd like to buy it. I wonder what his advice is: Threaten to harm the child's mother if he tells anyone what you did to him; show him your gun...?

Ah, the good ol'e religious reich. An American Taliban.
I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religion than it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.

All of the Mountain Park lawsuits have alleged that the kids were kept from drinking water and became severely dehydrated.
The previous facility run by Bob & Betty Wills had reports by the news media that girls were beaten for such things as being hungry and stealing food such as peanut butter from the kitchen, and the news article posted here says that girls ate their toothpaste because they were so very hungry.
Those low-life's at the Christian Law Association have the audacity to scream to the world that it is so very cruel to withhold food and water from Terri Schiavo, and while I don't disagree with that statement, there is a VALID reason why food and water is being withheld from Mrs. Schiavo, but there was NO GOOD REASON whatsoever for Bob and Betty Wills and Sam and Debby Gerhardt and the rest of their gulag keepers to withhold food and water from the kids, and the fact of the matter is, fat man Gibbs (David Gibbs Jr.) was at the Jordan Blair v. Mountain Park trial sitting as a protectorate in front of the bar; and in the Stacy Kellar v. Mountain Park trial, David Gibbs III (attorney representing the Schindlers in the Terri Schiavo case) argued for Mountain Park.
As you can see, the Christian Law Association argues out of both sides of their collective mouths.
Yep, the Christian Law Association has some of the most hypocritical actions I've ever seen in my life - their actions definitely speak louder than than their shallow whines. (I wonder how much the duped Catholics of this country will now begin to donate to the Christian Law Association -- Really sad considering that the Baptist Fundies at the Christian Law Association don't even consider Catholics to be Christian and they damned sure don't recognize priests as being qualified.)
I wonder how many of those protesters will show up and protest in front of the Federal Court House in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in September 2005, while the latest trial against Mountain Park is taking place. I wonder if any of those who claim to hate the practice of withholding food and water will stand up for the kids who have had to endure the same treatment. (I have a feeling that those protesters are just as hypocritical as the Gibbs clan and that none will care to show up.)
Can't wait to see whether anybody from the Christian Law Association will show up for that trial - if they dare show their faces I do hope that the news media will be there en masse to let the world know just what hypocrites they are and will remind the world that David Gibbs III railed against the withholding of food and water for Terri Schiavo and yet dares to stand on the side of those who have been alleged to have done the same thing to CHILDREN!
-
If anybody's planning on dropping in on that protest, do me a favor? Make up a sign to the effect of "I was starved by Gibbs' client, Betty Wills @ VCA" and try and get it in front of a camera and, or get a reporter to ask you about it.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Good suggestion, Antigen, BUT -- Betty Wills was at MPBA and Bethesda (not VCA) --- so, just for correctness sake, I make the observation.
I would love to see somebody show up and get the media's attention with such a sign. The WHOLE story conerning Christian Law Association's affiliation with LESTER ROLOFF and the whole damned abusive bunch needs to be exposed to the WORLD and now that the eyes of the world are focused on the Schiavo case, I do hope that somebody will SEIZE THE MOMENT!
-
Well of course I wasn't suggesting that someone show up holding a sign that isn't true. I meant that if anyone in the area who was actually starved at one of these places were planning on checking out the scene that they might want to make such a sign.
A student burst into his office. "Professor Stigler, I don't believe I deserve this F you've given me." To which Stigler replied, "I agree, but unfortunately it is the lowest grade the University will allow me to award."
