Reply if you have any information about keeping kids from speaking with their parents, reading mail, preventing visits.  Also, if you were taken to CEDU by an escort and enrolled without a first visit to CEDU with your parents.

After profeets we were not allowed to send or talk with parents. We had to wait 2 weeks.

They rarely let you call ANYONE outside of CEDU in the old days. All the phones were those old roto-dial jobs with these little locks on the dial.

:smile: I got a phone call per week. Talk to my mom one week and my dad the following week. It would alternate, worked out nice. After propheets they only made us wait a week.

I hear it's illegal in California to restrict phone calls, mail, visits, etc. of kids in Group Homes such as CEDU.

Also, that no kid can be enrolled at CEDU without first visiting the place with his parents.

What was the purpose of that?  What were their reasons for restricting phone calls to your parents?  How long did you have to wait before propheets?  And what is a "propheet"????

The purpose of the isolation is to keep kids from complaining about abusive treatment to their parents.  It is all illegal in California! Maybe the parentsagree to this, but by law, they cannot because the kids have personal rights under California law.  See "check this out".

under the category "Group Homes", go to 1/05/05 Title 22, Div 6, Chap 5, Art 6 (cont.) section 84072 for the personal rights of children.

CEDU is a group home.
