I got one of these letters sometime ago, this doesn't mean a draft is coming back, there are current local draft boards , several in all states representing clusters of countys. They were abolished in 1973 near the end of Vietnam and reinstituted in 1980 with the selective sevice system.[ This Message was edited by: thepatriot on 2004-06-11 12:31 ]

I pray I'm wrong patriot but I've been watching this story for 6 months or more.  I believe it's real and will happen if Bush wins the election.

I hope I'm wrong on this, not to mention,

Iran is next.

Just thank God we have a strong military, over-stretched that it is, because our armed forces are doing more to protect America than our intelligence agencies are.  Bottom line, beheading Americans, kidnapping and/or killing civilians, murdering Iraqi government ministers is pure terrorism and proof positive that clearly, there is a target assasination campaign underway in Iraq designed to turn back the clock by scaring Iraqi's from taking a role in their new goverment.

I hope you are wrong too, although I advocate a strong military I do not believe the draft is the way to go. I guess we will have to wait and see.
