Parents ought to seriously investigate the Elan School before deciding to put their teens there. I was a "resident" there and have lifelong scars as a result. I was most amused to read about Clare WOODMAN. who is a director at Elan...she filed for BANKRUPTCY in 2002! WTF....how can she help "troubled" teens lives together when clearly she can't manage her own- or at least her finances!

Thanks Chrysta, I completely agree. Maybe people should realize that she had to file for bankrupcy because she works a very time consuming difficult job at Elan for not that much money. That is how important helping teens is to her. If she was prostituing she wouldn't be filing for bankrupcy now would she. Idiots. Clare puts her entire heart into her work and work long late hours. And it is sad that she doesn't make more money for what she does. In my opinion the woman should be making far more. I think the people who post this garbage and just sit around bashing the good people on this planet, the people who actually work to help others and improve lives, are worthless. I like Clare a lot. That being said, my problem with her and other Elan directors is that they conceal their faults and try to come across as perfect people in their present lives. And their claim that "the thing that sets Elan staff apart from those at other places is that the staff are not corrupt" is absolute baloney.
I don't think it's right to bash her for filing for bankruptcy, especially if you're not a single parent with two kids. I had some financial problems in my years after Elan (before I discovered how to fix credit problems for good). But having found out several of the Elan directors' flaws the hard way and having caught the Elan staff out on multiple lies, I really feel that many are a bunch of hypocrites for telling us to live honest lives. For that reason and others, I would NEVER send my kids to Elan. I say that with respect for Clare, Marc, Drew, Marian, Jim Collins, Terri Volk and very few other people. Of course, I would rather tolerate my kid's abuse than turn him over to Tania, Peter Rowe, Marty or any of the other criminals.
Now, that being said, the Elan Reporter and his assistant are very fucking funny, in my opinion, if you subscribe to their sense of humor. I'm the type of guy who can't stand Ellen DeGeneres and loves Sam Kinison, so I kinda get a kick out of it. I've had my battles with Nazi and (if I can guess who he is) his assistant too, but really, those posts about Marty are pretty creative (I differ with him on Clare and Marc --and Tania can walk off a cliff for all I care).
But even if you don't find them funny, who the fuck cares? This is Fornits, not CNN.com! Nobody takes this shit seriously. I've had THE WORST possible shit posted about me and it hasn't killed me. And I mean, does anybody really fucking think that Marty chants "hiyuh hiyuh" and abducts little boys for his tepee and rapes moose or whatever the hell his flavor of the month is?
