One place mentioned, Lincoln Village Treatment Center, is currently being suied and the case is scheduled to  go to trial next month.  Kid was injured while in seclusion (If I recall correctly) and as is so typical, it was ignored.
Any links to pertinent material, news articles?
Not that I know of. Reason I know about it is the lawyer for the injured kid has represented my kids and we've talked about it some.  I've told him I'd like to sit in on the trial. If I do, I'll no doubt have a lot more information to share at that time.

There were at least two kids' deaths that I know of, at this particular place... one of which entailed a "therapy process" known as "grouping." This was allegedly practiced amongst the kids themselves under the supervision of the adults in charge. You could call it ... a physical manifestation of group peer pressure.

Lincoln Village is part of Kentucky's Juvenile Justice System, serving roughly 30-40 kids at a time, if I am reading things correctly. My guess is that it qualifies for what might be termed community-based treatment or a "group home," or rather, what Kentucky called a group home when they started to deinstitutionalize the juvenile rehabilitation system in the early 1970s.

Here's the closest thing I could find as far as a website for this particular facility. Obviously, this site is more pertinent to the educational part of these kids' "rehabilitation." There's a pic at the link, but it translates too huge to post:

Hardin County Schools and the Kentucky Educational Collaborative for State Agency Children (KECSAC) provide educational experiences at Lincoln Village Treatment Center for State Agency Children (SAC). These educational experiences include academic, vocational, special education, social skills, and post-secondary offerings, which are in compliance with state and federal educational laws and regulations. Strategies to address the challenges associated with treating troubled youth are addressed at this location.[/list]
