Title: Why do people post on fornits?
Post by: Anonymous on September 05, 2009, 09:43:27 AM
It doesn't help them. It doesn't help anybody else. So what's the point?

It does help some people to tell their story to perfect strangers, people who will listen, people who shared the same experiences, it can be therapeutic for some.  I post to add balance and insure that survivors who benefitted from the program and their parents get a voice here.  It is important that all sides get representation.

Notice how there's just no end to people who will spontaneously tell their story cause they want to while program advocates have to stake out and carry a torch for all their imaginary friends who benefited from it?

Speak for yourself. If it's such an insufferable drag, you can, of course, choose to post elsewhere.  :D

Ha Ha! That sounds pretty much like "life on fornits" some days, if ya ask me!  :roflmao:

Might even have been the same young man, from the sound of it, who was making the majority of those 5 minutes worth of prank calls!

What makes you think these people need you at all. Aren't they capable of speaking for themselves?

Some folk make motivational speaking their livelihood, not to mention their reason d'etre. I suspect that Whooter may sometimes think of himself as a Tony Robbins for the troubled parent industry.

People post on fornits to feel better about themselves. It's actually very selfish, but they are blind to this ironic fact. In the head of 99% of those reading fornits is ''I am better than ...... ''. Fill in the blank with the enemy dejour. Program owner, TheWho, Christians, insert boogey man here.

I can agree with this.  I have seen many posters who just enjoy arguing with other survivors or argue with thewho just to blow off steam.  Some are here just to push their individual agendas and I think some do feel much better afterwards.  If they didnt then they wouldnt come back each day.

There is such an underlying sense of futility coming from this post. Are you ok?
