How much over all is needed to keep the forum up and running for six months factoring in new hosting package increase?

Depends on how much resources the forum consumes.  It works like this:
http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting-vps.html (http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting-vps.html)

So we could be looking at anything between 50/month to 150 a month...  We could try it for the first free week and see how much we need.  In fact, i'll talk to ginger bout that as soon as I can find her on AIM.

yeah.  it's not cheap...   but we'll see.  We can always try it for a while and switch back if it doesn't pan out.

meh.. I sort of feel bad about this considering I donated the dreamhost package thinking it would sort out the problems. What I have to donate I'll donate. Won't be much given my upcoming move, but I'll give what I can.

50-150 a month to host a forum seems kind of expensive for hosting fees.  ???

It sort of is... sort of isn't.  It depends on the size of the site you're running.

I was just saying that because I have a godaddy account that is $7 a month, and I get something like 2000GB traffic, and host half a dozen sites on the one account. I know fornits got kicked off godaddy, but it just seemed kind of expensive to me to have to pay 50-150. At that price I'm worried fornits will go off the air all of a sudden.  Is fornits have a huge traffic load or something?  :smashcomp:

It's different this time because the Houston Police are involved.
