Has anyone read the book by Alison Weaver called "Gone to the Crazies" in which she talks about her two years at Cascade? It was published in 2007 but I just found it at Borders bookstore.
Further confirms my belief that these places are evil, evil, evil. Have not seen this subject brought up here so if you guys have not read it you may want to. If it has been brought up and discussed I would be interested in reading the posts about itl

Thanks for posting that baby cakes. We need a comprehensive reading list for subject matter that applies to what we are on about- specifically in the CEDU section.
I've been looking over:
Snapping! by Flo Conway
and
Cults in Our Midst is an important book by Ms. Sanger even if you are turned off by the title, it holds a wealth of applicable information.
and
SYNANON everyone's favorite father figure that doesn't have the name Mel, this book is by YArls something.
I'll add to this list and edit it as the neurons start firing again.

Duh.
the book Help at any Cost is a must read. Maia Szalavitz, in a responsible and journalistic manner, writes the first informative expose challenging the methods of the troubled teen industry, and illuminating a few of the FUCKED up DEATHS that occurred to fourteen and thirteen year old kids, just like I was.
This site still makes a difference. I hope my account of my experience will too.

I have updated both page with links to the books. We currently only have one book in Fornits Wiki book-category (http://http://www.fornits.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Book), but it will change over time.

A book list would be great. I read Help at Any Cost. Blownaway I have been following your saga: great writing and I'm looking forward to more. I am hoping these writings will encourage more people to write about their experiences. I would encourage everyone to read Alison Weaver's book "Gone to the Crazies". It does a good job of showcasing the mindset of parents from a certain social strata who would have their kid kidnapped and put into one of these places; how screwed up they are and how their refusal to deal with their own craziness allows them to see their daughter as the "problem" that needs "fixing". Also it is amazing to see how parents can trust their most precious children to people and a cult that they make no effort to investigate and are so totally clueless about what goes on there. I wanted to bust into cascade and whup them all upside the head.
I'm going to read the other books you recommended. Keep up the good work.
