Title: Bandwidth Hammering
Post by: JDavid on June 20, 2003, 08:58:00 PM
How significant is the bandwidth waste if I were to sit and hit Refresh on a page of someone's site all day?  How much to I have to do it to run their bill sky high to the point they have to shut down?  It's just an average page with three of those usual rectangular banners on it and a few other small graphics.

Any ideas on if there's any such thing as an auto refresher so I don't have to sit and do it manually?  Do any alternative web browsers come standard with an auto refresher?

It would be so incredibly easy to do that. No problem at all, except for a couple. If you're moderately successful, the admin will figure out a way to filter out your requests. If you're very successful, you could face charges for hacking.

But aside from that, hey, anybody could spend about half an hour reading the docs and figure out a way.

To go to Journal of Applied Polymer Science go to http://www3.interscience.wiley.com (http://www3.interscience.wiley.com) and then journal search and put the journal number and year
