I am currently a student at hyde and am wondering how many students currently read this forum? I know of a few but i want to know why we all put up with thwhe shit that is fed to us.

What kind of BS is Hyde feeding you these days? I was there three years ago. The happiest day of my life was the one when I left Hyde. Without a doubt, it's one of the sickest environments I've ever been in. Some of the staff had as many issues as the kids, but they were supposed to be the role models. Yikes.

Sorry i got cut off i just got CONFRONTED for not doing work during study hall. Basically my reasoning behind this thread is that i need the help of current students. My plans for Hyde School go much further then character :smokin: every now and then. I know whats wrong. The hiphocracy is the problem. i don't know man, i discovered this site today, i am appalled, i have also been doing alot of other research and reading alot of joe gauld BS, i am sick, all of this makes me sick. i don't know what to do

Jusst today i was confronted by 2 faculty for "not paying enough attention during seminar" i was paying fine attention, i was targeted simply because i am a senior and i wasn't "getting enough heat" i simply tried to take responsibility and apologize because i learned that thats what i should say but i was told i was being defensive and my attitude was "horrible", my friend who was in the room was so upset by the faculties absurdities that he left the room, he was subsequently confronted for a half an hour. everything is so illogical. i hate it here so much

Yes i was told today that my attitude is a problem that i was standing next to someone with there hat on in the godly mansion. Isn't one of the tenets of these places to treat others whom you feel aren't *doing well* with compassion? For they surely will fail without Hyde and it's teachings. Why would that be something you'd be rejoicing in? Would that situation not call for compassion?

Let me tell ya'll about the one time I got my butt tossed around a timeout room at Straight.
I had run away from a higher phase and been brought back. Since I was going to be put through it for awhile no matter what, I decided to just break w/ normal practice and actually be honest. So some kid stands up to confront me and says something to the same effect as our resident pro-Hyde anon here; "You really messed me up! I looked up to you! Now with you leaving, it makes me think the whole program is full of shit!" "Very astute!" I said, "I do think the whole program is full of shit." [arms flailed]
Nother kid gets called on, this one was on a higher phase and standing guard at the door. He said something about how I didn't deserve the group, had no apreciation for all the love. I had had a mad crush on this guy since the moment I first saw him. Was planning on getting out, losing the "fluorescent tan" and extra weight then looking him up. I said to him that he was right, I didn't belong there and if he would kindly step aside from the door I'd be happy to oblige him.
So then the Staffer restated his demand to me to apologize to the group for failing them. I argued that all I had done was try to deprive them of my company and, as Reagan had just pointed out, I was an unworthy, unwanted piece of shit anyway and so I didn't see anything to disagree about. And I couldn't apologize to Group for running, it wouldn't be honest. I wasn't sorry. I was sorry for having let myself get dragged back in.
This all went on for a short while, maybe 20 minutes, followed by the weirdest 'restraint' I remember from that place. For a couple of hours, they pinned me down to the floor in the usual fashion, only I refused to fight or even holler about it. I wouldn't help them pretend there had been any good reason for doing what they were doing to me and wouldn't let them make me act like one of the animals they accused us all of being. Sometime after that, I got stood up and confronted again. This time it was a trip to the timeout room w/ a tag team of 3 or 4 big girls to bounce me off the walls, yell in my face, poke bruises in my chest. Same thing. Eventually, one of them got frustrated enough to throw a closed fisted punch to my face, breaking my nose. I still didn't react. Sr. Staff actually gave up and quit the business and just started ignoring me from that point.
I never did understand that. I fully expected to get the same rough treatment as anybody else did who refused to comply. I've always wondered why they played it differently w/ me or whether it was just my own perception that it was different.

People that bully are looking for a reaction as a validation of there existance. Human nature is all the same no matter where you are. The thing that Hyde and your program do is take the natural behaviour of kids to peer pressure and bully and turn it into a force that up holds the program.

Actually, I never practiced on the rez, as they call it, but I was a public defender for five years before going into private practice. Get your facts straight. You may look down your nose at it (if you're who I think you are, you went into medicine as I recall), but it's a noble job, one I think even the folks at Hyde would approve of. Of course, when I had kids, I left for private practice and a much better income, but I'm proud of the time I spent as a PD. So, again... ::both::

Not only does Hyde's theories not work in young people, Hyde does not work for the standard adult making a go of a career. Can you imagine going up to your boss and saying, "I need to confront you on your dishonesty." CRACK ME UP!! Does Joe Gauld really believe in living Hyde in the real world. I would get bounced off my butt in any job by doing things "The Hyde Way."
Hyde is all that people are saying it is. It is a cash cow for the Gauld family and extended family! These posts are not only from disobedient kids skipping out of study hall, there are true professionals posting on this site who have had terrible experiences at Hyde.

Folks, these are the kinds of kids who go to Hyde School and who will be around your kids should you make the mistake of sending them to Hyde. All the Cult talk is great, but truth is that Hyde accepts most everyone who applies and these are the low lifes your kids will be going to school with.
