Hi, this is John Gorenfeld -- I wrote the recent piece for AlterNet about Rep. George Miller's crusade to regulate the "troubled teen" industry.

Wondering if anyone here has thought about getting a copy of this: a CSPAN video of a presidential fundraising dinner in 2001 where WWASPS president Lichfield was a guest -- having given $100,000 to the president, according to campaign records.

Cool - but do you really think anybody cares considering the connection with Mel Sembler (Ambassador to Italy, with ties to STRAIGHT, one of the worst anti-drug cults in history)? Maybe if they interviewed Maia Szlavitz who wrote the new book HELP AT ANY COST and showed that video simultaneously things might get interesting???

Well, I think he got off cheap ($100,000). It costs nearly that much to feed Bob!!!!

John out of curiousity, what's created your bias against these programs?  Have you ever spoken to program graduate such as myself who owe their lives to these programs, i've yet to see any articles about that
