does anybody else overreact to the word concern. whenever i hear that word i feel like i have to take stock of myself because i am getting ready to have to talk my way out of something.

Reporting Concerns....wow.  What the fuck was that about anyway.  Concerns? It could have meant anything.

When someone says the word to me, especially if its that they are concerned FOR me....I automatically sense distrust for me in their eyes and tone.  Like, they are telling me that they care about me, but they are talking all sorts of shit about me behind my back.  I also get the feeling that I will never be able to alleviate their "concerns".

I have never put that together until just now...

i get all tense when i hear that shit too! it did mean anything....especially in straight! it meant a certain confrontation for sure!....good lord! i forgot about the "care" we were taught in there!
"narc on your friend,because he might be screwing up!"concerns" are the reason i was started over on day 128 of my 5th phase!"concerns" were the reason i got humped in boston!.....not 'cause i did anything wrong! i too,forgot about that!...lol...the things we got in trouble for in there,huh?ppl in the real world i've told about straight,look at me stupid and in disbelief about what and how we got in trouble in there....because of "concerns" that place made us all paranoid of each other....shit it made us paranoid period!....hippie

that word has always fucked with me since i was in straight. i used to think my parents would use it for effect to get me to pay attention. i dont like people concerned about me, it fucks with my head.

I have forbidden anyone in my family to ever say they're concerned about me.  I have the same "oh shit" reaction.  Whenever anyone said that to us back then we knew that was it and we were in for one hell of a rough ride.
