Hey SEKTO, you ever hear Where The Pyramid Meets The Eye--A Tribute To Roky Erickson? It's a comp album of Elevators and Roky solo songs covered by artists as diverse as Primal Scream, ZZ Top, Jesus and Mary Chain, Butthole Surfers, John Wesley Harding, T-Bone Burnette, Sister Double Happiness, Doug Sahm, and others. Really interesting takes on the songs, from pretty-much-a-note-for-note cover versions (Butthole Surfers doing "Earthquake"), to really out-there arrangements (Primal Scream doing "Slip Inside This House", Chris and Tabby Thomas covering "Leave Your Body Behind"). All in all, a really fun collection, and one that has helped me in my project to swell the ranks of Elevators and Roky devotees---after hearing the covers, they are more receptive to hearing the original Roky Erickson or 13th Floor Elevators recordings. Add a heroic dose of psilocybn, and the indoctrination is complete............

No, I've never heard of that of which you write, friend, but will look into it for sure.  Sounds good.  Yeah, the Elevators were a great band, and way ahead of their time.  I really dig on that psychedelic jug-band sound; it trips me out.  And from Texas, no less!  I love listening to Easter Everywhere while on the trains to and from school, and while riding about in the city.
