Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Who went to the conference?
« on: July 29, 2003, 10:57:00 PM »
So, how was the conference, anyway? Did anyone attend? If so, how was it? I was on Clearwater Beach earlier in the month and it was just not possible to go back again for the conference. What did I miss?
Wes?, Bill?, Jerk?, Ginger?, Mo?, Someone?, Anyone?

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Scopes down the throat
« on: May 19, 2003, 11:48:00 PM »
I am scheduled to have a scope down the throat on Wednesday this week, and it is amazing how something that is such a routine procedure has got me all nervous. Hedwigfan, being a doctor and all, has assured me that it will be just fine, and I take her word for it, mostly, but at the same time, I am fearful. You would think that after having had back surgery, and surviving the likes of hell in Atlanta, I would be prepared for something like this. But, to tell you the truth, I have these recurring fears that:
1: I will not wake up from the anesthesia, or
2: I will bleed out in my throat from them stretching my esophagus and wake up in the ICU.
Don't get me wrong, I am not even a squeamish type of person, and I gave birth with absolutely no medications, but for the life of me this has got me nervous.
Perhaps it is because I am a Mom and the thought of something going wrong and leaving my daughter alone is chilling to the bone. Perhaps it is just silly "head games" that I am playing. Perhaps I just need it to be over with, find out what is up with my lower esophagus and get my life back to normal.
Just thought I would share that information with ya'lls. So, thanks for listening. I feel better just getting it out.

Hey Ginger,
Is there some sort of block from AOL in posting a link to a thread? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Muck Raking in a Compost Pile!

Okay, so we had a few brief moment of clarity, then all hell breaks loose again! I have a question for you, Leigh.....

Why would you post on another thread comments like "notice those people and you will see where the "air of negative energy", as you put it comes from."? You made that statement as if you were free of negative energies, and not guilty of spreading hostilities, yet I have not seen one post from you since that time where you have not been outraged against someone, either at Bill, ISAC, or whichever other anonymous happens to be  sharing in your rantings. In case you have not noticed, or have not realized thru your own education in this world, you are causing your own pain and discontentment thru your own anger. Leigh, some shit is just not worth the stink, let it go from time to time. You worry about Bill's postings causing you a bad name with the public,  but your reactions to him are just as bad as what you perceive him as doing to you.  Perhaps I just don't subscribe to the same channel as you, lighten up a bit.

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Has anyone noticed?
« on: April 03, 2003, 10:32:00 PM »
Is it just me or has the order of this BBS become more or less a whipping post? When I first found this site, I was engulfed by the amount of compassion and care the people had for one another. People genuinely cared about each other, gave good feedback, and were mostly on the same side of the tracks. Postings were real, yeah there were arguments, but the postings were real and from the heart. Folks had a NAME, not ANONYMOUS postings. AT least we knew who was enraged at any given time. Folks had the balls to "OWN" their thoughts and opinions. WE as a whole did not have to agree with everyone or everthing that people said, but there was a level of respect for the effort and energy that went into the threads. As of lately, I never see any regular postings from folks like Enough, Tampa Survivor, Hedwigfan, Clay, Jeff, Carmel, Shelby, dreammagician, and even Antigen... all of whom used to add much to this site. Anyone wonder why that is? Perhaps it is because of all the negative energy floating around here. I keep coming back thinking it will change, but the song remains the same. HOW SAD IS THAT?

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Atlanta Folks
« on: February 19, 2003, 12:04:00 AM »
I was just sitting here thinking of a few folks from 84-85 days in Atlanta hellhole, wondering if anyone knows the whereabouts of them.
Billy Chase and his brother Jeff, they were from Memphis. I kept up with Billy for years, but have not seen or heard from him in a long time.
Just wondering...

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Talking behind backs!!! LOL
« on: February 18, 2003, 11:58:00 PM »
I just had this hysterical flashback of trying to have conversations with other people without talking behind backs, you know the number 2 rule!!!

"It was said by PEOPLE", "PEOPLE said", "PEOPLE are not in the room so we cant talk about them" oh shit, how funny that was, all the while talking behind backs, cause we all knew who "PEOPLE" were!!! I had some newcomer get all bent over this one nite, my mom and me talking about my host family!!! Anyone else remember that shit? I suppose that I should have been started over time and time again!! If only they had been in my mind, I would have been !! ROFLMGDAO!!!!

Amazing but true, this man, Mark WArdle, who was appointed the Field Director of Skyline Journey in 2001 has been charged with yet another death of a young man. This time tho, he was charged with allowing a 14 year old youth to die of hyperthermia. Apparently, the boy had had enough of hiking in the rugged terrain of Utah's deserts in 105 degree heat. Exhausted, he sat down and had a heat stroke. Wardle, being the good "field director" that he was, ignored the youth's condition, and allowed him to remain in the scorching sun for another 45 minutes before he summoned help citing that he thought the youth was "Faking it".
This is not the first time that this man has had issues with Child abuses. Skyline is still in operations although the state ordered it closed, but  while the appeals are going on, it remains open.......I have to wonder if he will get off of this charge and move on to yet another victim. Will Skyline be freely operating in another month? How many victims does it take to call it enough?
Any thoughts?
Cecile
