So what is happening with regard to a straight and associated program survivors reunion this year?

anyone got any info, ideas, plans, suggestions, remarks, comments or otherwise constructive comments?

** we already know that one or two people here want to make veiled and vague threats about inflicting physical or emotional abuse on those whom they deem to be 'bad' people, so thanks for the input in advance, but really your point has been made to the n'th degree.

I changed my profile, removed my email address and resorted to an anonymous posting identity because of hateful and threatening email I received regarding my comments here.

You know who you are and what you said, and if it continues I will be forced to take legal action. Keep in mind that your email is easy to trace and identify in court.

I have to point out that it is entirely possible, if not altogether likely, that there are people closely associated with the program and it's underlying foundation and offspring who would have no moral compuction about trying to post divisive, aggressive and subversive commentary to this survivors forum as a form of baiting, or with hopes of triggering our various Post Cult Stress Disorders.

Perhaps we should all keep this in mind the next time we read a confrontational post. Your mileage may vary.

I just noticed this today, the DFAF, the alleged current incarnation of the non profit foundation that was behind straight inc. has started their own forum as of today. Betty Sembler founded the DFAF in 1996, and Jeb and Columba Bush sit on the board of directors/trustees.

They can't make you sit down, they can't grab your beltloop, and they can't tell you what is or is not a feeling anymore.

Keep in mind that these people have no compunction about legal bullying tactics, so if you post there, choose your word with caution.

I am curious about the number of people in different groups at different times?

In Atlanta the group when i arrived was around 150 people, but grew during 1984 to nearly 300, if my memory is correct.

How big were the other groups?

I know that Straight and the Straight Foundation were incorporated, and operated as non-profits.

But they operated in these buildings, did they pay rent? Did the Foundation own the property?

Or was the program paying rent to owners, possibly the Semblers or their company, who then earned a profit off the property?

The Manipulated Mind Denise Winn's exploration of how exactly one is instilled with a new personality.

Heavy Drinking: The Myth of Alcoholism As a Disease Fingarette further debunks the disease theory.
