I've been listening to some of the songs off of these two albums..they're on a tape that someone made for me. Eventually I'd like to hear both of these CDs in their entirety:
Elliott Smith (http://www.lyred.com/lyrics/Elliott+Smith/Elliott+Smith/)
Needle In The Hay, Clementine, Southern Belle, Single File, Coming Up Roses

You need to listen to Independence Day and Sweet Adeline. Elliot was one of my favorite musicians. Go out and buy the album xo. Or just download it for free

XO was the first album that I heard by him. I saw him perform Waltz #2 (XO) on Letterman, then I saw XO at the library not long after that and listened to it, again and again. Later on I got turned on to the the older stuff (Either/Or, Elliott Smith) and I like that a lot better - less strings and bombast.

I *love* Elliot Smith.
Looks like I need to find a new avatar.
Hi MarenMaren.

listening to either/or tonight. angeles is my favorite, also between the bars. some of his stuff reminds me of old simon&garfunkel... not sure why or which ones... i had a crush on Elliot Smith he reminded me of someone I went to high school with. ripped from those friends when I was put in Straight, but that is a different forum.
