There were a few people on the girls side who claimed to never have sex before entering Straight, every girls rap after that they were asked to stand up and they were yelled at for not having anything to say. Sheesh, sounds like Straight was encouraging those who didn't have sex to come up with something clever or just wanted to rip on them for still being a virgin.

I still refuse to sit on the floor to this day, going over a friends house or if there is nowhere to sit, I'll just stand there and lean on the wall or something.. lol.

I have been to therapists since 4th grade and I can tell you one thing. No therapist that I've seen or talked to can even begin to comprehend what I've been through in Straight, for me, the message boards like this one work and I have struggled having major flashbacks.
Since I've been posting and relating to being there, I have found the flashbacks are less and I'm a bit more in control of when they happen. They still happen, but not as bad.
I'm just thankful that this site is here to help me. Not saying that this is the way to go to overcome this problem, it just works for me.

Your welcome, and my memory is just trying to recap a few more things, so I appologize it took so long for me to remember you.
Michigan seems slowely detererating from the message board lately, but I understand that people have busy lives, myself included. Take care :smile:

Halloween night at Plymouth was actually not too bad, the host parents came to the building and each one passed out candy and lined up along the inside walls of the building and all of the phasers went to each of them with a bag and they gave us candy.
We carved pumpkins with a plastic spoon the oldcomers got to use plastic knives. The pumpkins were soft and kinda old so it was easy to carve.
However, my oldcomers that night at my host home took my candy and didn't allow me to eat any, so that really sucked, but that night we didn't have a rap session and we got to leave when we were done getting our candy.
I was excited anyway cuz I ended up signing out of there 7 days later.. lol

Ugh, I remember those LONG exec raps that would last 2-3 hours sitting on nasty smelly greasy carpeting in what was called "the carpet room" I have no idea why it was called that because it was the room with the most windows in it facing Ann Arbor Rd.
I remember after getting up, my legs would be numb and had a difficult time standing straight up with my feet together waiting to be seated again in the main room.. ugh

In 1990 in Plymouth when I attended there were about 30 on the girls side about 40 or so on the guys side all together. The guys side always had more oldcomers for some reason.

Just move along and go forward with this because obviously everyone thinks I am not educated enough to understand the mentallity of most of you who are posting negativly about me, you know nothing about me other than the fact that I attended Straight too.. So don't judge what you don't know.

Wow, that almost sounded like the way we used to write out our Moral Inventories.. ugh.. scary.
However, you might be right about this, we may find people here and there that post on occassion, but won't find anyone who is going to devoted to stay and post for a great length of time from Plymouth that is.
I'm wondering if we could possibly get a devoted area on Fornits for just Plymouth Michigan, since Morgan Y. has it, I don't see why we couldn't try :smile:

I think a movie on Straight Inc. is long overdue and it's time we got our stories out into the public. However, I know how the media can blow things out of perportion sometimes, but a real life truth movie would be great (maybe a few of the rebels that were there could do some great acting! :smile:

Quddus, you are one of the few and rare staff that I recall in Michigan that was compassionate. As I think more and more about your name, I do remember more and more about you and your being on staff.

There were many raps you lead that you did not veer in the direction of humiliation, yelling or make someone feel like crap. As I recall you were a gentle person and someone with a sincere and forgiving heart.

I'm not sure how you accomplished that when a few other staff memebers (not to mention names) were unlike that.

I have had much time to look back on this and you as well, now that I recall you were not one of the people I remember that were harsh on others. :smile:
Thank you for the things you've done to try to go above all others and not give in.
