This forum has been of great help to me since my granddaughter was taken away to a program more than a year ago. I have met a lot of good people and learned much about this abusive and horrible industry. I believe that when she is free, she will be able to find comfort and useful information here that will help her heal. So, thanks from me too, Ginger!,

Why don't you register so you can receive private messages. There are those of us out here who care, but are unable to post on public  forums without jeopardizing loved ones still in a program.

Your response is without a doubt the most intellegent and thoughtful synopsis of the teen/parent problem I have ever seen on this forum....or any other. I raised 4 daughters, two  of them I thought were really "straight as arrows", the other two I knew were rather wild. They are all now adults, and much to my horror, the cheerleaders, honor students, athletes, etc., were every bit as bad as the ones who openly exibited anti-social behavior. Fortunately, all of them got decent grades, none of them got pregnant, they all went to college and became responsible adults. Unfortunately, one of them sent her daughter to a "behavior modification program" in spite of my (the other grandmother and the majority of aunts, uncles and cousin's) protests. Until my granddaughter was sent away, I had no idea that such places existed. The more research I did, the more horrified I became, to realize that so many normal teens are sent away to be incarcerated by parents who were probably much worse than their poor kids. I think you summed up the situation beautifully, and I thank you for doing so.

I notice that TPalumbo just became a member on 3-15-05. You are most likely a troll for one of the programs, searching for adverse information about your particular jailhouse. I am even quite sure I know which hellhole you represent. Forget gleaning any information from me, you would only use it to torture some poor child.

I am very grateful to you both for having the courage to post your stories on this forum. Until you came along it had been nearly impossible to gain any first-hand information about Mission Mountain. Hopefully your messages will allow parents to make more informed decisions about sending their daughters to this facility. It is good to hear that you are both doing so well.

Is there anyone out there who knows how to find out where a child has been sent. P.I.'s, hackers, spies, etc?
