Facility Question and Answers / Therapy Survivors dot org
« on: March 26, 2015, 08:51:08 PM »
A friend of mine wanted to start a website dedicated to therapy survivors. She was scared off by the notion of lawsuits. So, I registered the URL in my name and as I live in China, good luck with them delivering a summons or whatever.

Not to say I'm looking for someone to sue me, far from it, just not worried about it.

That being said, what I need from you clowns.

Content.

Good OC. Not the same tired assed Maia articles. She does write good shit, that's true, but how often is it linked to every single survivor blog? Answer- every single @#$#ing time.

I've agreed to write a series of 5 articles on restraints for her. Needs more than that to get it going. If any of you have something you want submitted or if you want to be added as an approved writer or whatever, let me know. I got a few rules, well she does, keep the profanity down to a minimum, truth nothing but the truth, and the usual demands for not acting like a tribe of howler monkeys in the comments.

I counseled her to keep her expectations modest, she's aware that not everyone is as enthusiastic about writing as you'd think they'd be given the amount of trolling they do on 8 chan/facebook/etc.

So, there it is pimps.

CAN ~ Collective Action Network / Radio Shens...

Two warnings in advance...

1) IN no way is this to suggest jamming any signals of a program.. that puts the detainees at risk if they need medical attention.

2) In no way is this to suggest pretending to be a supervisor to give bogus orders... ala JRC in which some poor kid got repeatedly zapped due to a sick practical joke.

Neither of the above should be happening.. just don't... it puts the detainees at risk of injury or worst if they need medical care but the goon in charge can't use their radio due to someone being a peckerwood..

That being said...

Civilian radio frequencies are not encrypted. I won't go into the gory details of radio band allocation because I'm not entirely caught up to speed on it myself. I just started studying for my ham radio license and I still can't tell a transistor from my elbow.

None the less.. many programs do use radios to communicate between each other and these radios are easily listened to by a comparable model of radio of a 50 dollar radio shack scanner bought off ebay.

No need to get kinky and drop 500 bucks on a APCO 25 capable police band scanner as programs are very much going to reside within the capabilities of a reliable analog scanner. If you want to sniff around the local police bands.. do some google work and you'll surely find any number of websites that will tell you if your local 5-0 uses digital radios or analog. If it's analog, which is stil quite common due to expense, congrats.. your 50 dollar radio shack special can hear the fuzz getting ready for a donut run.

Now.. Here is where my logic gets a little twisted...

I'd love to sniff out the frequencies of a program.. record their radio traffic for two things..

One I'd like to see if they are on the frequencies that require a license.. if they are.. I'd report them to the FCC just to see if they have a license or not. I'm not talking about a ham radio license but an FCC license to use walkie talkie radio that is tuned to the frequencies reserved for businesses and others who pay their license fee to use those frequencies.

There is a bit of a fine involved, not a huge one, but it would amuse me to no end.

Now the other one.. and this is where I'm unsure how to proceed..

If they are chatting back and forth over the airwaves using Detainee names.. I wonder if that would be a violation of the HIPPA laws?

Thoughts on this Zen? I know you know more about HIPPA than I ever will.

absolutely insane what some folks will do to de-gay their kids let alone kids that aren't even their own.

Matt, making this thread for you bro. Remember what I suggested in private message. If there are any problems, I'll see them sooner or later and delete them.

Elan Versus Three Springs could be an interesting starting point if you'd like to go that route. Maybe we could drag psy into this discussion by his ears and get him to comment on CEDU.

What are your thoughts matt?

Danny B is not welcome to post on this thread.

This is just an attempt to bounce some ideas around. Has anyone noticed that these shitpits are/have been going internationally? Been that way for awhile. What have we done to create resources aimed at educating local communities in those foreign lands?

Like, from what I know there is some sort of Hyde/elan spawn somewhere here in China. I'm not exactly sure where and while I've been tempted to visit it I was told by a coworker than it was assuredly a one way ticket to spending a few nights in jail before being quietly thrown over the nearest border with only the clothes on my back. His explanation being that it takes quite a bit of influence to open any sort of business on that scale in China and it is very likely the local hyde/elan spawn has some serious friends in the local government who have a vested interest in the ongoing operation of the place.

But as far as I know there is nothing in Chinese warning the Chinese about the dangers of these programs.

And they have some pretty warped stuff going on here in China given suicide and high school students in China is a fairly common thing. Throw in a warped program, insane pressure from their family to succeed, and being torn out of their family support net.. it's an ugly picture.

So what we have in an emerging market for the likes of some shitpit Aspen org who wants to make a killing by expanding abroad.

Thoughts?

The Troubled Teen Industry / HR 3126 is back..
« on: April 27, 2013, 08:50:26 PM »
Been hearing about it on facebook. I think this is what.. the 3rd time for it?

The approach to it thus far is to get everyone busy calling their congressmen and threatening not to vote for them. I guess that's one way to do it, though I put little faith in it. I suggest calling your local political organizations and cultivating a relationship, NO pervo business intended either so calm down boys, with the members to get their support. One or even 10 people calling and threatening not to vote for a congressman is something I suspect they've heard before on numerous occasions, but having someone call with a larger local voting group behind him is something different entirely.

From what I understand, the last version of HR 3126 didn't mention anything to do with religious programs. Where as and witherfore HR 911 gave them an exemption. I think that's a step in the right direction. Those fundie programs really give me the heebie jeebies. I'll blame my Universalist liberalism for that I guess.

Still not sure how it is going to work funding wise. Sounds to me like the biggest issue beyond this "parental rights" problem is scratching together 50 million or what not to fund a regulatory agency. I wonder if maybe the government ought to consider enforcing a direct tax on programs to fund their own regulatory agency. Be pretty ironic and well deserved, no reason why the tax payers should have to foot the bill for baby sitting a bunch of psycho program owners to make sure they aren't killing, raping, abusing, and/or neglecting the detainees.

Anyhow, thoughts?

Hey, just trying to scroll all the way down to the wasteland of inactive forums gives me a neckcramp.

Can we consider moving the more inactive ones and making them subforums?

Kind of like CAN and Facilities Q/a.

I see Calo vs Burnett has been dismissed. Will this be an ongoing trend? I hope so.

Anyone know if Calo had to foot the legal expenses for their harassment of the Burnett family and all the suffering the inflicted on them?
