Somewhere here on fornits well proxied posted a list of CALO employees. Wouldn't it be fun if we used Missouri's free case.net website to do background checks on them all?
Who wants to go first?

We should come up with a point system for things like more serious charges, more interesting activities n such like.

Phil Young is a CALO teacher and a children’s book illustrator ("I'm Not a Tomboy"). I wonder what that whole protection order issue was about. Who might need to be protected from kindly old Phil Young? Oh right, every student at CALO.

:jawdrop:
Seriously.. I was expecting like 2 or three people.. at the most.
-
quite a few of those staff members don't work at CALO anymore... and some haven't worked there in a really long time. But yeah, I was cool with a lot of the staff members, so some of them had told me about their priors... there's quite a few. Personally, the stories that they tell me are funnier than the court cases, lol

That was similar to where I went. It was almost as if some of them were bragging. In a way I think they thought it would inspire the kids to believe in the infinite ability of the program to cure all ills. Me... It just made me uncomfortable to be around them. I had never been convicted of a crime, never even arrested, never even stopped by a cop... and here this guy was bragging about the length of his rap sheet, even talking about the time he was locked up in a psych ward (later died of coke overdose). Another would show off his (rather unsightly) track marks going up and down his arms and legs (later "quit".. possibly fired). Another woman had more than a few missing teeth due to meth abuse (later fired for driving the "school bus" while totally tweaked out of her gord)... and the list went on. I doubt it's as bad at CALO but who knows. It's the danger of hiring people with so-called "real world experience".
-
Can these CALO losers even claim a good drug addiction? From the looks of it you have some bad check writers and other lame crap. Still, not the sort of person I'd pass off as a role model, particularly if they are bragging about their priors. Which CALO Student #17 verifies that they are doing so.
-
Well, they weren't really bragging about it. Most staff didn't like to tell about this kind of stuff, because some students may call them "hypocrites" or that they are "untrustworthy". They just told me, because they said that i can "handle such information"... but I knew it was just because they were cool with me. There was a staff in particular who told me about her problems with meth when she was younger, and that she doesn't want to see any of those kids turn down that path. She was honestly the most genuine staff member that I've seen to work there. I loved her, lol... she was really down to earth. I could see what she was talking about too, because, to some extent, I agree with her. It's much easier to help someone with their problems if you have gone through (and overcomes) something similar. It's easier for the student to relate to the staff member too, which built more trust. She and I had the same idea of "become close to the person first... that way, you can help them better, since they are more willing to take your advice."
Anyways... she left because of disagreeances with the program and other complications that she wouldn't want me to mention. I was pissed when she left.
