The Greco-Roman world was the matrix for Western civilization.

We know how that ended.

Feed Your Head / CITIZENS COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS
« on: October 30, 2011, 05:47:39 PM »
Does anybody know anything about this organization. Also where are they on TTI abuses. I didn't read anything that involved investigation into programs. I heard about this organization the other day.

http://www.cchr.org/

CITIZENS COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS:
The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a nonprofit mental health watchdog, responsible for helping to enact more than 150 laws protecting individuals from abusive or coercive practices. CCHR has long fought to restore basic inalienable human rights to the field of mental health, including, but not limited to, full informed consent regarding the medical legitimacy of psychiatric diagnosis, the risks of psychiatric treatments, the right to all available medical alternatives, and the right to refuse any treatment considered harmful.

Accomplishments of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, Bringing Psychiatry to Justice for More than Four Decades

The Citizens Commision Commission on Human Rights has been on the front lines of mental health reform since 1969. Acknowledged by the Special Rapporteur to the United Nations Human Rights Commission as responsible for “many great reforms” that protect people from psychiatric abuse, CCHR has documented thousands of individual cases that demonstrate psychiatric drugs and often-brutal psychiatric practices create insanity and cause violence.

The Troubled Teen Industry / Re: Boot camp director arrested

Quote from: Inculcated
Well still another thread on this topic bodes well for an investigation resulting of the relatively recently made public video of Sarge McFarland abusing other minors. Pasadena boot camp abuse getting national coverage
It’s absolutely wonderful that an investigation into the crimes of child abuse that took place on the videos is being launched and the national attention that comes with such an investigation will prove to be an opportunity to give parent’s reason they can connect to about reconsidering the risks of placing their kids in programs in favor of less perilous options.

It would also be so nice if the D.A. prosecuting the kidnapping and abuse of the minor and extortion attempt made on her family by Kevin McFarland could somehow manage to get these videos into evidence and recognized for what they are—a prior documented history of the defendant’s abuse of minors…especially considering the kidnapping charge with that case carries the potential of some hefty consequences.  Sure *Sarge* is probably well familiar with throwing the word consequences around, but it’s been long in coming that he be dealt some.[/quote]

You have got that right.
Watching those video's made my skin crawl.

It is always a great moment in time when a program closes. It means we are one more program closer to eradicating this abusive institutions.

Hyde Schools / Re: Hyde's "independent" psych professionals
« on: October 04, 2011, 06:44:52 PM »
If you are in for a penny you are in for a pound. They can't be independent either professionally or personally, in order to associate with Hyde they would have to believe in the methodologies Hyde uses to educate their troubled students. IMO..

Feed Your Head / Alice Miller, Authr, "For Your Own Good".

"The truth about our childhood is stored up in our body, and although we can repress it we can never alter it. Our intellect can be deceived, our feelings manipulated, our perceptions confused, and our body tricked with medication. But someday the body will present its bill, for it is as incorruptible as a child who, still whole in spirit, will accept no compromises or excuses, and it will not stop tormenting us until we stop evading the truth." - Alice Miller, Author, "For Your Own Good."

http://www.nospank.net/fyog.htm
"As Dr. Miller has written this book for the lay reader, it is straightforward and free of jargon. She has included plentiful detail . . . her analysis is incisive and compassionate, and . . . relevant across national boundaries . . . The problem of children's rights is pressing, as is the problem of violence in American society. And as the two problems are linked, Dr. Miller's book could not be more timely." -- Kathleen McCaffrey, The Baltimore Sun

Your right Che, the Bill doesn't have any balls. Most steers don't have balls either when they are slaughtered but they still provide substance. This bill will provide a platform to build on with amendments. If it is passed and enacted then that action alone lends credibility maybe a little but everything has to begin some where.
Before we paste this bill as a "has been" lets see it get passed first, then lets decide if it can generate momentum.

Thanks Dragonfly.
The more I think about it Dragon, fuck em all. I mean it, those generations (1920's, 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's) of megalomaniacs who thought they could perform any kind of experiment they wanted on people for the "higher purpose". Their "higher purpose" was their paranoia of one another Russia vs USA, WW II, WW I ect....they brought this mental illnesses forward into our lives. Everything has a price, right. Well all the wars and the espionage that went on right up to our time (1974 for me Marathon House and your time 1980's Straight Inc) created a realm of fear and they felt the only way to deal with this was "mind control".
The owners and staff that worked at these facilities were reading the same studies we are reading now. They were looking for better ways to control and manipulate kids to subscribe to a better behavior model, I believe that they knew all about the possibilities of control behavior modification going way off the rails and becoming extremely abusive. It is no coincidence that the sickest asshats became Directors at these facilities.
When I was here months ago I became aware of the effects that this subject was having on me. I was more agitated, restless and found virtually few people to talk with about this, I became lonely. All alone with thoughts of despicable actions being inflicted on innocent children and adults. I say innocent because of humanity, for christ sake. I finally opened up and started talking and found that even if people never went through this barbaric experience they could still help me.
Being from Marathon House I never experience the harsh physical and verbal abuse you endured 24/7 but I did experience being lied too. There was no educational plan in place, we virtually scrounged for food at local food banks, supermarkets and bakeries. Church groups would come in and feed us twice a week. I always wondered where the monies went. Rhode Island sent them money, the city I lived in sent them food stamps for me and my father sent them money. There were 75 of us there from R.I. all being financed the same way. Well, maybe not all parents sent money but most did.
Anyway this wasn't the way they were advertising the program. They lied.

excerpt from Topic (5th paragraph; 5th series)

"Amidst urban rioting and civil protest, Doctors Sweet, Mark and Ervin of Harvard put forward the thesis that individuals who engage in civil disobedience possess defective or damaged brain cells. If this conclusion were applied to the American Revolution or the Women's Rights Movement, a good portion of American society would be labeled as having brain damage".

So there you have it Fornitters we are brain damamged...  ;)
and they wondered why we rebelled against this generation of adults.

Good morning everyone. Thank you so much dragonfly for this article or series of articles condensed all into one. This is gold and relates back to what we were posting about a few months ago (that could be more then a few months).
I don't mean to run of on a tangent but.....I will get back on the full topic after this rant.
Everytime I read or hear about what they did to inmates in the State of California I just get the jitters. My brother spent time in the penal system in California back in the early 70's (71-74) in Folsom Prison, after 3 years he came out a very different person. Not for the obvious reasons either. I visited my brother in 1977 and I saw the change, I thought being in Vietnam changed him (it had, caused him to become a junkie which led to prison) but this was different. I know this is going to sound weird but he really felt that they were putting some kind of drugs in his food and watching for side effects. He was constantly being brought before the prison Doctors for evaluations, had his vitals checked daily ect....Now he/we has already thought of the maybe obvious reason, that he spent time in Vietnam came back with PTSD and the Gov't was doing studies of these soldiers in prison. But here is the problem, if they were doing studies they were not telling him. He asked and was told in a condescending degrading manner that he was a disgrace to America and that he should not worry. What they were saying at this prison was more less he deserved whatever they were doing (it wasn't bad) so shut up, junky.
It has been a long time since I had thought about this topic, sorry if it came out unintelligible. Just some thoughts.

What is so terribly sad about this whole parody, is just that, it is a parody. Who ever you are and I have a good sense of who that is (do you really think it is necessary). Jill Ryan, Samara, Anne Bonney and many others are just disgusted with this whole freaking charade. I would of thought Fornits was better then this. If conversation is slow "so be it". Sites ebb and flow like everything else in this world of ours. Traffic will come back.
This isn't a circus where we need clowns to entertain before the big show.
Come on lets show some class and bring the curtain down on the clown.

Not to get off point but heroin trafficking went up in the "Golden Triangle" when we went to war in Vietnam and Cambodia and again when we supported war in 1979-1980 in Afghanistan and again today in Afghanistan. The CIA use whatever is available to gain favor with the locals and to move their agenda. The CIA also needs to pay their way, since most of what they do is off the books (so to speak).
Buzz this will be news for the week but I sincerely doubt this whole fiasco will gain any traction in the judicial system.
Arming the Drug Cartels, Mexican citizens must be just loving this....Grrrrrrr!

I know you mentioned the ATF ect...but something tells me more is here to this story, then local Gov't agencies.    ;)
