Notice the style of writing in all those reports against Diamond Ranch are the same.  All the reports were written by the same person with nothing better to do then story writing.  It is amazing how far people will go to discredit a place trying to help children.
Disgusting.

Notice no names were given because they didnt have any and if they did add them they would have been sued for slander.  So there is no way to verify the info, no newspaper articles or police reports.
Just like ISACcorp, HEAL retains the originals on file but keeps the named and signed declarations (under penalty of perjury) private.  That's their right.  Considering your threat, it's probably also a wise decision.  If you claim they were never signed and were all written by the same person, you're implying heal to be complicit in the deception.  If that's the case, why don't you sue HEAL.  Go ahead.  Make Angela's day.

i have personally spoken with or have exchanged emails with three of the statement writers.  They are all real people, believe you me.  All those kids needed was someone to care enough to ask about their experience.  DRA is no Tranquility Bay, but the indoctrination model of crediting the program for your "sanity" is our philosophical objection.  We know Brendan needs help, but not at the price DRA and his parents want him to pay.  Adolescence is not a disease.  You can also find an example of how adults and teens can work together to problem solve at www.freechild.org.

i talked to paul on monday.  he is still living in washington.  he graduated from u dub and is now working as a fire fighter.  he has scars from his experiences but he is a well-adjusted guy.  was very eager to help in the brendan situation.  he did talk about how he refused to be broken, but there were many kids in his program that were not as strong.

well, DRA uses the color code http://www.colorcode.com/ by taylor hartman for their parent seminars (so the website says).  b's mom did not come back with her son, and has not said much about the seminar.  she and b's dad go out there again in november to another seminar.  it's just so cute how they even have an employee page which tells you each person's "color profile".  i think i may barf.  anyway, apparently, b's parents are "being held accountable" and "have to explain themselves to b".  but b still doesn't get to communicate...if DRA's so great (if all of these programs are so great) then why do they contract with escorts, why aren't they more transparent?  what do they have to hide?  plenty.

thanks for sending postcards.  i know everything we're doing, from the reports to ken stettler, to the myspace/fb groups, to the letter writing campaign, all of these things are having an impact.  ricky dias (owner's son) has contacted two survivors who have published their experiences and have reported them to authorities.  he's been trying to sweet-talk them into changing their stories.

brendan's mom and grandmother went out to DRA for a tour and a seminar.  they got to ride on a golf cart because of the grandmother's senior citizenry(!).  they "happened" upon brendan who was outside at a table with a few other kids.  he was able to see his mother and grandmother both inside a building and outside in an open area.  we doubt that brendan will tell his mother the whole truth, but we do find it interesting that after less than four weeks b saw relatives.  normally it's a minimum of ten weeks before that occurs.  his mother has said she wants us to give her time to heal her family.  apparently, she and b's dad have "homework" to do everyday and are held accountable by the therapists.  b is also receiving therapy every day (so we are told) by the chief therapist (again, so we are told).  this is not the norm as far as we can see.  again, we think they are individualizing a bit because of our intense scrutiny.

please continue to send letters and cards with messages of support.  eventually he will get his mail (so we are told).  i just envision piles upon piles...

i'm a married-for-20 years, 42-year-old-mother of three sons.  nothing much scares me, especially not a naysayer.  telling me "that won't help" is pointless.  the rally is to raise awareness about the lack of a legal voice for teens, and to give brendan's friends a chance to express their outrage and distress.  we are putting the pressure on in a public forum.  the times, they are a'changin'.

For all you interested parties - Brendan's friends are organizing a rally which will take place on Thursday, October 22 in Gainesville, Florida.  The theme is "Teens Unite:  A Rally for Rights".  I have been emailing brian lombrowski and jeffrey nadel (current prez of NYRA).  i'm hoping that each group will send a rep to speak.  Anyone from this site who might be in the area is welcome.  The impetus is Brendan and his situation, but the focus will be what we consider to be the next wave of the civil rights movement - Teen Rights.

Just so you know, we followed Brian's advice and made several reports to Ken Stettler - director of licensing and regulation in Utah.  His office has opened an investigation into DRA.  We have also filed complaints with the Dept of Children and Families here in Fl and in UT.  Brendan's teen friends will be staging protests in front of B's family's business.  B's mom and grandmother went out to UT for a "seminar" and did not bring him home.  so now, the gloves are off.

Whether or not Che or CAFETY have shut down programs is really not the point.  The information they share trickles down to parents, kids, survivors, and people like us who are trying to right a terrible wrong.  They have both been great resources for us.  blessings.
