In the United States, a new law proposal called The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) was introduced last week, and there will be a hearing in front of the Judiciary Committee this Thursday.

If passed, this law will allow the government, under the command of the media companies, to censor the internet as they see fit, like China and Iran do, with the difference that the sites they decide to censor will be completely removed from the internet and not just in the US.

Update, from EFF's website: the Senate Judiciary Committee postponed the scheduled markup of the Internet censorship bill — a fantastic outcome, given that the entertainment industry and their allies in Congress had hoped this bill would be quickly approved before the Senators went home for the October recess. Mysterious Object Hovers Over Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN9 -TV) -  Some of America's heroes claim aliens from another world piloted to earth to check on our nuclear weapons sites. And, after what one Tucsonan watched in the sky Thursday night, Armando Duarte does not thank those officers are too far off base.

Monday, a half dozen former Air Force officers went to Washington, D.C. to serve up a well prepared theory, "I believe...and, these gentlemen believe that this planet is being visited by beings from another world who for whatever reason have taken an interest in the nuclear arms race," said researcher Robert Hastings.

With written testimony from at least 120 others in the military, the former Air Force officers spoke openly about an alarming series of what they claim were UFO encounters at nuclear weapons sites.

For those who are up on Max's shenanigans on Fornits, I'd like to know your thoughts about who Maximillian is (disgruntled program parent, thoroughly brainwashed survivor, or other) and why he/she posts what he (from here on out, I'll just say he) posts here. (Even if you are not fully up on Max's history here, I'd like to hear from you on this, too.)

It would be one thing if Max were to say, "The program I was in helped me, but I realize others may have been traumatized, abused, etc, etc."

But this is not the message I get from our friend Max.... the message I get from him is more like "Fornits posters exaggerate, or lie outright about their experiences."

It is not a stretch to say that Max is a likely a program parent...but could it be that he's just severely brainwashed (ignorance is bliss) by whatever program he was in (i personally doubt he was ever in one)?

I tend to think that he is just a weirdo parent trying to validate their perception of programs via this message board, as well as their perception of people who post on Fornits (as if they could be lumped into one group)...or possibly another shill, like Whooter.

Not only do they not honor it, but they are working 24/7 to try and take away your rights and basic freedoms. So what rules do the global elite go by? Let's hear it for loudmouth people who feel the need to constantly but into conversations. Usually all these types succeed in doing is muddying the waters or complicating things for the rest of us; they cut people off with their goddam unwelcome two cents. :flame:

tHe discussions on here seem to have reached a sort of impasse as of right now.

It's at this point when I start thinking I don't really care that much about AA one way or the other (I'm glad I was never forced into going, though.)

It's at times like this when I wish people would stop typing and agree to disagree, because the conversations don't seem to be going anywhere.

If you think these statements are apathetic, consider the fact that I'm tired of the relentless (and pointless) arguing and puerile name-calling coming from either side of the discussion.

And maybe there is something to that comment DB made about the Florida AA chapters being more fucked up than the rest of them... and that would be just one aspect of how fucked up that whole state really is; I guess it wouldn't surprise me. Sembler, Newton, both from fucking FLORIDA. Fuck Florida.
