Sammie Monroe and her sisters did it yesterday on The Montel Williams Show. Tomorrow, Jan. 20, various groups[1] will be protesting Melvin and Betty Sembler at Sembler's shopping center construction and management company, the Sembler Company, 5858 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida. The tenative time for the protest is from 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Sammie Monroe and her sisters took a couple of days to travel to New York City to tell their stories. If you can make it, please stop by the protest for an hour and join others protesting Straight.

Anti-inauguration protest at Sembler Company dateline St. Petersburg, Fl., 1/20/05 There were about 20 - 30 protesters. CBS' WTSP in Tampa mentioned the protest briefly. They said the reason for the location was that Sembler was a 'friend' of Bush. Tampa's WFTS ABC Action News covered the protest. ABC News aired a video of the event and reported the location of the protest as the 5800 block of Central Ave., never mentioning Mel Sembler or why the crowd had decided to protest in front of the Sembler Company. Several people were asked why they were there but camera shots were careful not to show the Sembler Company behind them. Everyone interviewed spoke against George Bush. It was a very poor showing for the Straight Survivors crowd. (Click ABC and select Video headlines (on right), "Bush protesters come out".)
The protest was against Bush. Most of the people there were there for that reason so you can stick your snotty attitude.
Actually there were a lot of people interested in the Sembler/Bush connection and were extremely interested in hearing about Sembler's involvement with Seed/Straight.
To those that showed up...GREAT. To those that didn't, hope to see you next time at the ACTUAL SEMBLER PROTEST.....and don't forget Newton's planning commission meeting!!

Well lets see. First and foremost I am a "child rights activist" I do alot of public speaking and look to match people to NFPs based on need and availability, since I refuse to take a penny for that, I work three some times four jobs. I am a professional chef (I cater) I am an artist, Sculpting is my thing right now. I am still working on my book. I am in the process of recieving my appraisers lisence in the field of antiques. I also refinish antiques and sell them at shows from the studio and on Ebay (sorry no penis pumps LOL Hi rich :wave: ) I travel the US and soon Europe buying for my boss and his clients. And finaly I give historic tours in my wonderful city. Why are you intrested? And who are you any way?

My career is to help children... I could set up a 501c3 and get donations, BUT, I prefer not too. I have a few degrees in foreign languages and in communication. I have a degree in cuisine from Paris France.
I chose not to do the day to day grind so that I can follow my life path.
I believe I survived to bear witness, and to end the caos that SEED/STRAIGHT started. I gave my life to the universe years ago and it seems to be ok w/out the sociatal "career" factor.
What is a career anyway?
A daily commute to an office? A job w/benefits [sp](most people don't have benefits). A position that other people see as acceptable?
I dont think its important.
If you are seeking the DAMAGE STRAIGHT DID TO ME, then ask that.
As far as I am concerned, if not for Straight, I probably would have ended up as a bored housewife in a bugoise lifestyle like the minons that I know fron my era.
Would I prefer it? I dont know. I do know that I could never be complaciant today not after STRAIGHT. Not with what I have experienced, not with what I know.
So again. I have a career, I have goals and I have a life. Its just not conventional.
But who wants conventional.
I've traveled the world. Ive meet amazing people along the way. Ive gained so much. If had to do it all over again the only thing I would change is the abuse rape and torture I experienced at the hands of STRAIGHT.
When I analyse it... I see...
1. Straight tried to bend my mind. I was a fighter, I kept my mind and I suffered for it.
2. Straight destroyed my relationship with my family.
3. Straight destroyed my faith in humanity.
4. Straight made it harder for me to achive my goals by refusing me the education I deserved.
I could be far more advanced if I hadn't needed to start out on my own at 17, no diplome and a 7th grade education.
5. Because of what I suffered at straight, I have nightmares, nightsweats, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, clausterphobia and a plethera [sp]
of other symptoms.
I deal with it. I dont take meds. I dont drink it away and I dont see shrinks. I just deal. like everyone else I try to get on and I try to make sense of it all.
So there it is.

Sammie is pretty good at many things, but satisfying feelings of anger, loss and betrayal is not one of them. Degree or no degree, she is one hell of an accountant, a good organizer, and presents her case or agenda alot better than most lawyers I have seen.
As for me, the whole CAUSE thing is over. I have been getting involved in the local music scene and started a diet called The Spark. I walk two miles a day in 90+ degree heat, plus changed my eating habits. Big deal right? Well I feel better and did not have to put someone else down in order to do it. I have an open invitation to jam with three different bands so far and I am gaining some valuable information regarding amps and soundboards and what not. I take full advantage of the sudden violent rainstorms we get down here by turning up the volume way louder than I normally would and trying out new effects.
There are still some people that I would like to do some projects with that are a part of this forum, but they are still fairly new and are either too busy or have issues with trust. They main thing I wish to say is that I no longer have a fire burning under my ass to let others know what we all went through. I don't think anyone can be made to care anymore. I mean hell, they are taking Brat Camp and making a damn TV show about it. There are times even when I think that all the stuff I wrote about my experiences with Straight are just getting lost, like tears in the rain. That's one of the main reason's I dont come to the board as often as I used too. There is just nothing here anymore. Nothing of substance, nothing of consequence, nothing of value. But hey!, that can always change right?

you are right I did get my GED. From GA. After being denied an education in STRAIGHT I had no choice. I went from 7th grade to STRAIGHT and still I received a 93 in math and a 97 in science and lit. So think of what I could have accomplished had it not been for STRAIGHT.
It was not easy but I did it and I went on. I am now thinking of reentering the educationa arena, Law looks intresting.
My admissions advisior seems to think I have a good shot of being accepted.
So enough of defending myself.
If you are intrested then call ICdP and ask them for my credentials.
Oh you are sure of my treatment at straight hows that unless you were there with me. That either makes you staff or hmmmm Miller?

You are saying that a staff member raped you. And yet you, and YOU as a female, have blatently REFUSED to come forward with their names and dates of these alleged events. There is a post a few months back where you were directly asked who these folks were and who gave permission to do that to you. Who? WHO??? You don't want to know where they are now? You are that daft and so inhumane without reason and conscience yet still, that you don't care where you are attackers are now? You have either lied or you really have not moved on.
And NO, fuck NO, you don't owe me or anyone a GOD DAMmiT thing.
