I wanted to get out of that place so badly that I felt myself starting to break. It was my friends that kept me from breaking, though...they were good friends and to comply with the program would've meant betraying them altogether. From there I started playing the game where I could, support in a propheet, say something deep in a rap, whatever the game called for, but it was pointless. Part of playing the game meant snitching on everyone, friends and acquaintances alike, and of course refusing to be accessory to any slight bending of "agreements". It was a waste of time only playing the game to a degree; it wasn't going to get me out of there any faster and it was starting to blur the lines between what was the game and what was real. So instead I spent most of the last 8 months on what staff eventually called "one, long full-time restriction", but I had my buddies, and we had our semi-regular pipeline of bacardi from bonners ferry, and we had our occasional sack of amazing, north of the border greens, and I had her. And I'm thankful to this day I never broke.

Or started to believe, whatever the difference may be. I guess I was a bit like Psy, though I managed to snap out before the fall. No protests for me, my own was a mostly silent protest against the idea of waiting out a sentence before I could enjoy life again.

As someone who has sampled both, I would say.....listen to castle!! It really is like a tattoo, we've all got our different opinions, but you're the one who has to live with it. I've experienced natural boobs that were wonderful, natural boobs that left quite a bit to be desired, fake boobs that felt wonderful, and fake boobs that were like "whoa...I hope these things don't pop if we get too rough...". Just please, please, if you get 'em, use the method that doesn't leave those funny looking scars!

Now that I've made myself out to be a complete manwhore.....I'll be at circle bar on main street in venice tonight, so all you natural and fake breasted women, come have a drink!

Don't kid yourself Lea, I was a teenager posting in the CEDU forum (well, I turned 20 in 2005), and I am confident that I was one of the more respectful and thought-provoking posters in there. All the "old school" CEDU alum were calling for degrees of reform that had already been implemented, so it was pretty important to have a few thoughtful, more recent graduates in there to reflect on what progress, if any, had been made.

And as far as the bashing that took place, yea I'll admit that a lot of it was fueled by some of the younger posters. Some of it got so tiring that even I said enough and stopped posting on fornits altogether for almost 2 years. But I distinctly remember the most hateful, ridiculous, thought-hindering poster to be Anne Hall, a program PARENT. I personally know a number of students my age that were doing their best to contribute to the CEDU forum, so let's not blanket us as overrunning the forum with our bullshit. In reality, it was the same couple of kids engaging in sockpuppetry to make it seem as if they were overrunning the forum. And the "adults" in the forum gave into it and spewed hatred right back at them, perpetuating it all.

Anyways, I'm glad the haters, young and old, have lost interest in flaming and the CEDU forum has returned to "normal".

Yup, pretty much sums up the full time experience. I always thought it was cool how they'd pull you out of classes for a week, sometimes 2, at a time when you were on a full time, so that you could spend ALL day instead of most of the day on work assignments. Often it was done during a key part of the curriculum and when you finally made it back to class, they said not to worry about the stuff you missed...your emotional growth was far more important.

Interesting point about people shunning you. I can't count how many times I got on a full time and my brainwashed "friends" felt obliged to pretend I didn't exist. Maybe it was because of all the snitches crawling about, or maybe they really were sold on the benefits of completely ignoring a friend for a couple weeks or so, but it always killed me when they'd respect bans late at night in the dorms and such.

Always had to love finally sneaking in a word with a friend you've been on bans with for weeks, and some asshole (fellow student) screams from across the caf or the house or something...."STOP BREAKING BANS!!"

Hell yea man, thank you too, good to know there are a few of us diehards around in the states. But all I gotta say is...

FORZA AZZURRI BABY!!!

I've been waiting since Baggio lifted his PK about 6 feet over the crossbar back in '94 to see the Azzurri get back to the finals. What an awesome game. 3 of us went back down to the North End with our Italia jerseys and it was just a zoo down there. Italians everywhere, walking in the middle of the streets, waving massive flags and singing their chants, and it was still 30 minutes before the game. We managed to find ourselves some room at a bar right off Hanover again, and it was absolutely packed. No better way to watch that game.

Then Zidane knocked home that PK in the 7th minute...I thought some of those guys were gonna rip the flatscreen right off the wall. Not a single French fan around, though...probably a wise move by them. At one point I really needed to take a piss, I had been holding it since the Italian national anthem, so I decided to book it to the bathroom real quick, but my buddy goes "Italy corner kick!!!" So I stayed. And then Materazzi put one in off his head. I think I would've lost sleep for the rest of the week if I had missed that goal. It was beautiful. I think the decibels in that place were on par with a low flying jet right over your head at that point.

I was really surprised at the Italian fans' reactions to Henry getting all but knocked out in the first couple minutes. I figured they would've been jeering him, as drunk as most of them were, but they were pretty classy about it. As the trainers were dousing him with ice water I heard a lot of comments like "It won't be as sweet a victory if Henry's not playing against us." Gotta give it up for soccer fans.

Italy had me worried towards the end, especially in overtime. They looked a bit flat-footed, and France was really taking it to them. Thankfully they were all visibly exhausted, and no one could really manage to get any solid shots on net. Except for Zidane's late header, which had to be one of the most beautiful saves of the cup, by Buffon or anybody for that matter. But Zidane, come on Zidane. I was heartbroken when he headbutted Materazzi. Zidane has long been up there with Maradonna, Keane, Figo, Maldini, and Klinsmann as my favorite players of all time. But the second he took Materazzi out, I had nothing for disgust for him. And man, if he had walked by that bar after the game, he would've been lynched. I don't know about all that "dirty terrorist" shit, all I know is that Zidane fucked up. To me, it'd be like Albert Pujols testing positive for HGH. Just really sad for the game. I guess the French papers really lit into him, especially when it came to all the kids watching the cup.

Anyways, the rest is history, the North End looked a bit like City Plaza (which they kept showing on the Boston telecast), which looked a bit like Rome. People were celebrating for hours. We went down to the south shore to hit the beach after the game and play a little beach soccer, and it just so happened there was a big group of Italians there celebrating, so we got a big game going. The Sox lost 6-5 in 19 innings that night, and we could've cared less. Man, I'm still excited about that win.

So maybe in 4 years the rumors will play out and Klinsmann (who I just discovered is my neighbor out in Malibu) will take over for Arena and march us back to the Quarterfinals. Peace! ::cheers::
