I was the one asking for the evidence.  Fair enough.  Good luck to you all.

Robert-  Please learn the difference between to and too.  It drives me crazy that you never get that right.  HLA education I guess.

thank you very much for your wish of good luck to us. i would like you to talk to some survivors and do a little research on these programs . i know that if you did you would become sick to your stomach from what you find. these programs would have you believe that we are all liars. quite the contrary. it would be improbable as well as immpossible for us all to tell the same story. most of us have never met and most of us come from different eras as well as different programs. we dont all get together and drum up these horrors. these are actual nightmares that we have gone through. i am not saying that every story that you read is true but most are. i can discern the lies from the truth as can any survivor and to say every story is true would dicredit me, my story and anything i say. i challenge you to do some research though and become active in our attempts to shut these programs down. every little bit of help we get goes along way in reaching our goal. educate yourself and become a part of the soloution.dont let the blood of innocent children stain your hands. this is a true horror and most would rather turn their heads. we must act swiftly and decisively today to save as many as we can. it may sound as if i am radical but i am not. my passion comes from what i have experienced. become active today!!!

MBA being dead is a good thing.  One less thing for Dr. Buccellato to screw up.  But, what makes anyone on this site think they had anything to do with bringing it down.  It didn't happen because Dr. Buccellato can't manage his money and has noone to finance it.  His original plan was to just move it to another county if Lumpkin County didn't approve the tax abatement.  This has everything to do with the ineptness of Dr. Buccellato  and nothing to do with the postings on this site.

i readily invite him to move his efforts to any county or state he wants and we all will be right there to lobby and e-mail all the respective people in that county or state. we will be there to bring the heat wherever and whenever. you cannot silence the victims of these programs for we fight not for us but the poor children who are there now and the future possible ones. you can take your rhetoric and shove it. we will not be silenced nor do we feel as if we have anything to prove to anyone. you and your fellow brothers have proven to us we cannot give up..by what you have put us through.now it is our turn to put someone through something and we intend to bring it buddy so get ready!!!!!!!!!!! you folks have done the worst you can to usand done all the damage you can to us. we speak and lobby because of the pain you have caused us so in essence you are responsible for the heat we bring. your days of making us feel guilty and making us feel like we are responsible for everything are over. we now start another era where you must deal with the people you have created

The entire basis behind BM is negative reinforcement...ie If you do X punishment will follow in one form or another.  .

Well, for some writing their feelings down is a negative or considered punishments!  I don't think BM is punishment exclusively, it's a system of rewards and punishments.  Obviously there are shades of grey in this- one extreme (negative) is what we all lived through.  That doesn't make every BM system function in the same way!  Again, BM has it's uses- but I think most understand it's not optimal.

I mean, after all, somethign like giving your kid a time out is a BM technique...  Doesn't seem like there is much harm in that.

you have somehow wandered out into left field graspimg at straws to defend bm not necesarilly as a whole but your perception of a part of it. you should wake up and smell the roses and discuss bm as pertaining to this conversation.what you are talking about has nothing to do with bm programs . the program i went through had me write nothing and had no rewards. as a matter of fact there was a punishment for everything no matter what even if you did everything the way they wanted you to. you had to be ready for anything at any given second. you tried to be as quiet as possible and tried to make yourself as small and as invisible as you could. even when doing nothing wrong if you crossed their path of vision you became a target of their cruel version of fun. how i ask is this bm. its not it is torture and abuse by even the most lax standards

hey buddy let me know when you got a few of them rounded up and in your locked room. i wanna come "visit" them for awhile

You really think there would be much left by the time you got there?  Especially Gilcrease?  I love his 'no right or wrong-only what works' philosophy.  I guess the result of 15 minutes in a room with someone who can fight back-and hates his guts-couldn't possibly be wrong.  And I know for a fact a spinning heel kick to the head works quite well.  But like I said, I know it isn't going to happen-and I'm not going to do anything to make it happen, either.  But I can certainly dream-no law against that, is there?

well it doesnt hurt to dream a little. i am not about violence anyway but a little fantasy doesnt hurt. i feel as strongly as you do about these peopl but thepeople i want to reach and educate will respond to soft spoken compassion. but in the fantasy world let me know when they are rounded up and i will burn my motor up at least trying to get there

No the content of the forum tells the whole story.  Hyde is nothing but an abusive mindrape posing as a 'treatment center'.
I thought it was a school.

Schools educate kids.  Hyde does not educate!  The teachers stink.  The ones who are qualified and good, leave within a year or two.

I went there for 3 years and graduated. Then went on to college, did fine, graduated. Then went on to graduate school, did fine, graduated. Hyde did OK by me and most of my classmates academically. You get out what you put into it.

What percentage of the Hyde class you started with graduated with you?  How many dropped out/left Hyde?  (Glad to know things worked out well for you.)

Probably about 10-15% left during Sr year to return to school at home or other school. Issues were too tough for them or they didn't want to face up to some ot the demands made on seniors, so they went back to the "easy" life in public school. A couple convinced their parents that they could do it without Hyde and wanted to prove it to themselves and their family. Most have since expressed the wish that they finished what they started instead of leaving.

i am glad to hear good things about a program.but i dont believe a single word of it. i guess everybody who has bad to say is a liar.whatever! you can continue to lie to yourself if you want. that is exactly what i did. and for 18 yrs at that. i thoght my problems and the things going on in my head were just normal life. they got worse and worse. sure these "schools" educate you. ha! the education i got is not recognised anywhere. i had to go get my g.e.d. they did educate me on how to read people's actions, tone and body language. they did teach me to believe nothing anyone says. they taught me to trust no one. is this the education we want our children to get? the future leaders of our country? come on get real. one day you too will wake up. and it promises to be a rude awakening. as for people wishing they had not left, it's called stockholm syndrome. there is no good that comes of these places. they stripped me of my personality and replaced it with who they wanted me to be. a robot. get real your a liar .we will forgive you though for you know not what you say ,YET!!!!!!!!

According to this, at 40 yrs old, I'm still a troubled teen...Anyway, here's the new criteria, and why every kid could end up in an abusive hellhole for the crime of being a thoughtful, questioning teenager:

Depression, Anxiety, and other Mood Disorders
Alcohol and/or drug abuse/dependency
Disordered conduct and oppositional behavior
ADD/ADHD
Effects of traumatic experience
Disrespect of adult authority
Inability to tolerate frustration or boredom
Unhealthy self-centeredness
Unwillingness to adhere to conventional values/standards
Inability to behave independently and autonomously
Self-mutilation and/or other self-harming behaviors
Pattern of excessive passivity and clinging dependency in relationships
Eating disorders that are medically stable

Man, I'm older than you and I am certain that the right therapist could justify diagnosing me with every one of the "issues" on this list, with the exception of the self-mutilation and eating disorder.

Guess I should quit my high-paying job, sell the house and check myself into a program so I can get "fixed."
checking yourself in and being forced are two completly different things

Think they left WWASP just to make MORE money?

i believe they left wwasps because of the heat that is falling on them. they just want to distance themselves so they may fly under the radar. well they cant fly under  our radar. we as victims know them and their kind all to well. fellow survivors lets turn up the heat on them and expose them for what they are. evil forces in the world who want to corrupt our children-the future of our country. soldier on,lets not let any of our advesaries escape through the cracks of deciet, for they cannot decieve us

Someone has to fight against the War on Teens, and who better than its veterans? Especially those who are older now, who have recovered to some degree -- at least enough to where they can now allow themselves to think about these crimes and speak out against them.

This industry is growing rapidly. Thousands of youth are being mistreated EVERY DAY. This is a human rights issue, but it's also a political issue. These young people that are in many cases being treated worse than prisoners in Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo are citizens of a nation that is supposed to believe in liberty, that is supposed to protect their rights (oh, but not before they're 18). They are the future of this nation, NOT the enemy!

well put. we must fight on even though it is an ugly uphill battle

If your experience was really so bad then forget about it and move on. You guys are like old drunks at the bar complaining about their first marriage twenty years ago. Get a life forget it and get a job or something else to do.

exactly what i did. now 18 yrs later i have so many emotional problems that i find it hard to function. who do you think you are to give advice to traumitized people? we suffer from post traumatic stress syndrome, something you obviously know nothing about. people that have been through it are the only ones who understand or care enough to help the kids still in these places. we are their only hope. and we all know this. its people like yourself who want to turn their head and do nothing. heres to all my fellow warriors out there . keep fighting for these forgotten children ::cheers::
