Post by: Anonymous on April 16, 2006, 01:54:00 PM
Gangs: Brutal initiation involving physical roughing-up
Programs: Brutal initiation involving physical roughing-up, intense emotional humiliation, and the onset of long-term psychological disorders

Programs: Teach respect temporarily, after which they swiftly lose it
Gangs: Teach a respect which usually lasts them their whole lives.

Programs: Expensive
Gangs: May actually make your child considerable money

Gangs: If caught, your child may land in jail
Programs: Bypass the whole "getting caught" part

Programs: Potentially lethal
Gangs: Potentially lethal

Programs: Isolate the child from family and community
Gangs: Encourage community involvement in extra-curricular activities

Programs: Teach lies
Gangs: Teach useful real-world survival skills

The choice is clear. Parents, ignore expensive "educational consultants" and program advocates. Introduce your child to your local gang leader today.
