I recently found out that a friend of mine's little brother was shipped off to Second Nature in Utah, and is going straight from there to Boulder Creek Academy in Idaho. I went to dinner with this friend's mom over Thanksgiving, and asked how "H" was doing, since I had not heard from him in a while, and was told he was send to SN, but had to "stay longer than anticipated" and was not allowed to come home for Thanksgiving (he was supposed to be out at the end of October). They are sending him straight to BCA, not even allowing either of his parents to fly out to see him. "H" is supposed to be in my wedding in June, and BCA told his mother that he "may or may not be ready to leave the premises" and that she might not be allowed to fly him back to the east coast where we are.
I've done some reading on here about the two programs, and I am really worried about him. I have been reading all about these places on here, and I know they are bad news bears. I don't know that I would be able to change his mother's mind (he is basically being sent away parents are divorced and his father is shitty to him, the SN place made up some diagnoses which she told me about and I know they are incorrect), but I would like to at least have something concrete to tell her about the terribleness she is sending/sent "H" into.
Also, I guess I am looking for some reassurance that whenever "H" makes it out he will still be the same kid I've know since he was 6.
