CCM had just as much of a hand in creating that Heritage mess as the trolls. It started off fine but she lost it after I posted that information from heal. She was so pissed that we were questioning that program. [Me?][/color] and Anne Bonney started in on CCM and then Niles started in on her.

Why Blame every derailed thread on the Who?  Compare what he wrote to what yourself, Anne Bonney and Niles usual flood of hate and porn.

My posts from the heritage thread, 1 2 3 4 5

And nope never posted porn or anything I would rate as hateful("Like X poster is gay" threads). Those things are so not my thing, nor do I understand the purpose crap like that serves in ending child abuse.

She was so pissed that we were questioning that program. It was after CCM and the who started joking about starting an abusive program that the thread seriously went to shit.

But anyway I agree with what psy said.... All the porn and random slam threads I've never understood and when I first came here and saw that I was totally lost. It took a while to figure out what was going on here and had I not been driven I would have written this place off as downright Bizarre.

The Troubled Teen Industry / Oprah's Africa School: Abuse Charges filed
« on: October 25, 2007, 07:51:48 AM »
Faculty member at Oprah's school charged with sexual assault

LONDON (NBC) - There are allegations of abuse at the African school built by Oprah Winfrey. A member of the faculty is being charged with physical assault of one student and sexual assault of another student.

Oprah Winfrey has spent tens of millions of dollars to open up a leadership academy for girls outside of Johannesburg in January. But since then, she's taken some hits for it, taken some criticism for it - criticism from parents who say the school may be too strict, alleging that they didn't get access to their children as they wanted to.

But this allegation is the most serious by far.

According to reports in South Africa, it involves a girl who had run away from the school recently. She made claims against one of the dorm mothers, saying things like this woman had been abusing the girls physically and verbally - that she was using profanity and most seriously, that she had sexually abused at least one of the children there.

Oprah Winfrey flew down over the weekend to meet with people associated with the school and she did release a statement saying "nothing is more devastating to me than an allegation of misconduct by an adult against any girl at the academy."

The school also said that this woman had been removed from the environment and that they are offering counseling to the other children there at the school.

Oprah has promoted the LGAT Challenge Day Program, Straight inc in the 80s, has sent at least on person on her show to a program, and of course spawned Dr.High Horse

Because they are funny as hell.

But really, it's been a fun filled day. Can't we get back to discussing the issue?

Whatever, have fun... I'm getting Carpal tunnel syndrome trying to keep this crap off the first page.

Search continues for missing LaVerkin girl

ST. GEORGE - The LaVerkin Police Department is still looking for 17-year-old Jessi Graf.

Chief Lloyd Watkins said she was last seen at Farmer's Market wearing a yellow Farmer's Market shirt and blue jeans on Oct. 6.

Watkins said Graf was living in LaVerkin and attending Cross Creek Center, a school for troubled kids.
"On the day she went missing, she told Cross Creek she would be training to be a cashier at Farmer's and would be 45 minutes late," he said. "She wasn't supposed to be trained as a cashier."

Watkins said it was reported Graf walked outside to gather carts and never came back inside. It was about mid-afternoon when they received the call that Graf was missing.

Watkins said they think she might have left on her own free will, but they don't want to take any chances.

"We're still certainly looking for her and want to make sure she's OK," he said.

Graf's parents, Carol and Tom, sent an e-mail voicing their ongoing concern for their daughter.

"We are working with the LaVerkin police, but are looking for any help we can get to locate our missing daughter," according to the e-mail.

This is the latest information I have. As far as I know she still has not been located. I don't blame the program for this. However, I think the newspaper should be ashamed of themselves. Apparently, this last article was finally posted where it should be on A1.

Unfortunately, it was a week later. Had they put it on the first page to begin with, instead of the 3rd page when it first happened, maybe they would've had more of a chance of locating her?

Who knows what has happened to this girl?
