Oh Lord, ok this is a little delayed (I'm responding to a comment about 2 pages ago)But someone is really grasping at straws here...have you seriously never heard someone refer to "the man"? Nate's making perfect sense. It refers to the things/people in control. "The Man" is the one that makes sure there's a big chunk out of your check for benefits you don't get. "The Man" is the one that controls society and it's view of the population (i.e. the Aryan ideal). "The Man" is what keeps you from getting the job you wanted because of your skin color. "The Man" is who makes sure that just enough things go wrong in your life so you're always dissatisfied (i.e. "The Man's tryna bring me down") Basically he's a meddling & controlling little sumbtich who's got one finger in everyone's business.  Referring to the Man is a way of blaming your problems or misfortunes on something concrete. I think what Nate was referring to was the general opinion at fornits. He was basically telling Evan, "Just cause everyone else says so, doesn't mean you should." Don't let society sway you if you believe what you're doing is right. Now, I do not share the same opinion of the Whitmore as Nate and Evan (I think I made that clear w/ earlier posts), but Nate was a very close friend of mine and it's ridiculous that people pick his comments apart in this way simply because they have no rebuttal. As for the phrases "stay up" & "one love"...seriously, you've never listened to Marley? Or Pac? Stay up = Keep your head up, stay strong, etc. One Love = there is no me or you, just us. It's a connection that helps us (you guessed it) STAY UP. Grrrr. It's not that complicated people. Peace.

I think whoever wrote this comment was actually AGREEING w/ the original statement. So, no need to get defensive people...

Wow. It's been a long time since I've seriously checked this forum. It seems like all the support & opposition of the Whitmore has completely disappeared. This is as interesting as it is amusing. It seems, now that the initial drama has died down, all those people who were so interested in "taking the place down" have disappeared. In turn all the arguments on the part of the supporters seem to have burned out. This is a very strange turn of events. People were so quick to grab their torch and pitchfork when everyone else was...what changed? Did the trend just pass or is it there simply nothing to talk about anymore? Personally I think the whole issue was handled wrongly from the start. I don't really know exactly how to express it, but I think most of the level-headed people involved in this mess understand what I mean. By all means do what you feel is truly right on behalf of your self/child/family. But don't go so far as to harm the family of those you would accuse unnecessarily. Keep in mind those that were innocent in the midst of this mess. Those that were held in the control of this twisted way of thinking for too long, unable to break free. Please, think before acting.

Honestly, who cares who AMF is? Who cares if he/she is for or against the Whitmore...this person makes absolutely no sense so you'd be better off simply ignoring their posts. If their opinion was really that important for everyone to hear, you'd think they'd communicate it in a way everyone can understand. They obviously love getting everyone all riled up. Just ignore 'em. AMF- the minute you start making coherent relevant posts, you'll probably have a hell of a lot more sympathy.

Oh my Lord! Thank you sooo much BuzzKill. It's so frustrating when someone asks an honest question about Cheryl someone else has to post (anonymously, of course) about Joyce Harris's alleged sexual preferences. Since when does that have to do with anything?? People are asking honest questions about the progress of the case or of Brek's recovery. They don't need some junior-high bullshit for an answer. I'm sure that this anonymous poster is a saintly little virgin with a gleaming little halo. I'm so glad this saintly individual has deigned to bless us with their criticism. Keep it coming.

What I'm saying is that there are a million conflicting stories about this Joey thing. I may not have been there but I know how things work there. It's definitely not far-fetched for a kid to say he was beat up there. Especially if was in a group on him for drinking or doing drugs or something. Those were always the worst groups. Cheryl went buck on Leah for it, weren't you there for that? For you to say that it never happened when there are police reports stating that it did, is ridiculous. Especially when other people have come forward and said that they were in the room too and saw him get beat up. It's a very twisted little soap opera being lived down there.

Hey Mikeymouse, why don't you stop acting like the gestapo?? You don't run this and no one answers to you. Demanding peoples names isn't gonna get any results, they're posting anonymously for a reason. You've posted that way yourself a few times. As for telling them to "fuck themselves" not everyone spends all their time doing that sweetheart...is there nothing more imaginitive you could say? There's no way anyone would get any answers by visiting the Whitmore. My mom visited  when I went and she didn't know the truth until the end of my year. I'd think twice about your unquestioning loyalty. The whole outfit is in the process of coming down so you definitely won't benefit from this standpoint...especially when people find out  that you knew what was really going on all along. Think about what you say BEFORE you say it, I'd say it's about time you learned that little skill.
