Has anyone ever tried to obtain records regarding our stay at Straight, Inc.?

Hi:

I've never tried to obtain records, but I've had government clearance, which combs throught your entire life, and they never found out about Straight. Ditto for a friend of mine from Straight.

Funny, I just asked this question to a friend of mine, a former staff member (a nice one) and he was wondering the same thing.

I don't know, I guess is the answer, but if the government can't unearth it it must be hard to find.

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured that's what the answer would be. I was only asking because my current doctor was asking about getting records from there and I just laughed and said good luck! The only record my mom had left was a delinquincy on her credit report for money she still owed to Straight after all of these years. Of course it was under some other company that bought the debt years ago but that's what they traced it back to. She ended up paying it in order to refi her house and it made me sick to my stomach when I heard that.

I am willing to bet they were all destroyed based on how those shut downs took place.

Try the Milford OH old STRAIGHT INC. building now occupied by KHK. Documents bearing STRAIGHT INC on them have been supplied to agencies in OH as recently as 1993. A former KHK client from 2004 reported being shown records from STRAIGHT INC clients who committed suicide.

Any type of rehab., counseling records are destroyed after 7 years.  Universal policy.
