Charlie was getting a handle on his life then.I'm sure he was stronger and more sure of himself.His eyes told the story.He was a natural in front of people.He had more inner strength and fortitude than art had.I see this now.Renee,a girl from N.Y.had an addiction to heroin in the city had spoken of stealing, and selling herself.She was quite a whirlwind of personality.Her addiction,she said,was at a cost of hundreds of dollars per day.We called her Reenie.
