I read all of these links and it makes me sad, and more than that it makes me angry.  While we as survivors are fighting amongst each other a whole new generation of kids is being abused, mentally and physically, young mothers are having their babies taken away from them forcibly, and 20 years from now, this generation will be sitting around dealing with manic depression, insomnia, etc. because the memories are just too damn painful.  OR, here is a novel idea, we put on our Big Boy and Big Girl panties and discuss this crap like adults and come up with a solution.  Anybody want to play that game for a while?

Just because a member of a certain religion is involved with something, does not mean that it is church sanctioned.  I am a survivor of a Religious Cult Home, and I am against forced religion in any form, but my inlaws are mormon, and I take offense to the whole idea that this place is being ran by the church itself.  The mormons are the most profamily group of people you could ever get to know.  They are salt of the earth, shirt off their back, good, decent, and kind human beings.  I don't want to argue religion, I know that everyone means well here, well almost everyone, some people should keep their amatuer psychoanalysis to themselves, but i digress..... instead of beating the drum that religion might in some way be involved in these homes, talk to the survivors and find out if they felt pressured to become involved with a religion.  They baptised me until I thought I would drown at Roloff and that didn't turn me into a fundamental baptist.  As for the question did being forced to sit in the same place and write sentences for hours without a pillow, while yes it is a control tactic and therefore abusive, they can be thankful they were allowed to sit as opposed to kneeling on the lenolium for hours.  Who ever thought up that torture tactic was not as creative as some of the other homes.

yahoo groups has a couple of different groups, I run a healing and support group there, and their is another group called Roloff Babies, but it hasn't been very active lately.

The Rebekah home was used as a quasi maternity home in the 60's and 70's, so was Bethesda.  I was in the home 85-86, and they were no longer excepting pregnant girls.  They now have several maternity homes as well as regular girls homes.

Yes, I am Loretta also.  That is my given name and makes me think of depressing old country tunes.  I have always been lorri to friends, and hanzomon4 is a good kid and I am glad to count him in that group.   I run a support and healing group for all Roloff survivors, but my pet project is a group called moms love is 4ever for exiled parents and stolen babies.  I am trying to make a difference the only way I can, and these homes need to stop coercing young girls into giving up their babies.
