Wes finally starting to get healthy, hes thrown very well his last two times out.  Tonight he went 5 innings giving up 3 hits 2 runs but none earned, 2 ks and 1 walk.  His era is now 5.89

@xerkitsko: We are honoring a different Wes Fager on this page...

I met Wes for my first time in St. Petersburg at the $traight Survivor's reunion in 2002. I was so overwhelmed at the time hearing all of the information I had buried for over 15 years and Wes' informative website on $traight helped me to make better sense of it all. I remember hearing him speak to us about how he had been duped into the program and how he took action once he realized something was very wrong with it. His insight helped me to understand my parents a little better and I thank him for his relentless effort he put into spreading the word about the atrocities of $traight Incorporated.

God Bless You Wes Fager!

Hey TE,

I know exactly what you mean. Although, I think having the opportunity to sit back, have a beer (or two), and twist one up with people we knew back then was rather therapeutic. Most likely more therapeutic than coming to this site several times a day!

I found this site back about 3+ years ago, and was a wreck at the time. I had to take off from the site for around a year just to help me remember that $traight was something which happened a long time ago to me and is NOT a current part of my life. Not to mention there are many people here who are still angry/rageful after all of these years, and then of course you have the trolls.

Personally, I prefer to be a happy person, so I had to remember that I am the one who chooses where my life goes, at least for now. $traight may have had a tremendous influence on my life and on my behavior patterns, but ultimately it is me who decides where I am going to go in life. Nobody else. I think people in general don't want to take responsibility for their own lives. It's much easier to lay the blame on someone else and forget that most things which happen to us are a result of our own actions.

I want you to know that I am supportive of you and wish for you to experience some of the happiness which you greatly deserve. Regardless of whether you choose to stick around here or not, I'm sure most people here understand your "feelings" and wish you only the best.

Thanks again for all of your postings and I do hope your $traight memories will start to become just that, memories. Perhaps if you just force yourself to start reading again everyday like you used to and get into your old routine you won't feel like $traight is all around you any longer. Just my two cents. Hope you feel better soon.

Aloha to you bro,

Hey Matt,

I still remember meeting you after Straight and hanging out with you around 90-91. You remember that Austin Healey I bought from you? I had that car for about 8 years before someone rear-ended me in Florida. Even then the car still drove well. I replaced the motor and the transmission within about 3 months of buying it from you, and from then on the car ran awesome. Good to hear you are still around and doing well. You can try e-mailing me at my link below.

Aloha,

I'm not sure who posted this originally, as it was posted by an anonymous poster, but it originally came out back in a posting about 3 years ago, which you can find here...

Alicia P., I haven't seen her in many years...

I remember going to the Dead Show in '89 at RFK with her and a few other former inmates. Those were some good days AFTER I got out of $traight. I was actually "sober" when I went to the show, but I think being surrounded in the atmosphere gave me a nice "contact buzz". Oh well, I can say I saw Jerry before he died, and I actually remember being down in that sea of the general admission crowd about 50 feet away.  :smokin:

Aloha!

I was there for that... That was in 1986. Yes and you are right... His name wasn't Greg... His name rhymed with miles and ice... HAHAHA

I think all of us in there wanted to run head first into a wall at least one time or another...

Thanks for the PM Withdraw... Check your PM's, I sent one back your way...

Aloha!

Hi Anne,

Great to hear from you again. I remember Chin, although I don't remember her face as well. It's good to hear that you had someone you stayed in contact with after all of these years.

Hawaii is great and I couldn't have made a better decision than when I moved out here. I'm doing well and would like to talk to you more. Send me an e-mail at the e-mail in my profile and I'll talk to you again soon.

Aloha!
