Jesus Christ on a broken crutch! Do you guys keep this brawl out of any conversation? I mean really! It's redundant.

That's really interesting you should mention this. Last week I was reading up on cults and one article said that it is common for ex-cultists to become irrationally angry if anyone criticizes the cult they were in. Just a few hours later, I received a hostile, profanity-loaded message from a man criticizing me of the advocacy work I am doing and accusing me of not having a heart. The kicker is, I had never even heard of his program, had not talked about it online EVER. I looked it up on fornits, I'm not going to name it but it was a spin-off of a spin-off of Synanon. It seemed to have equal amounts of people who said the program saved their lives and people who said they were horribly abused. It was really chilling, as soon as I read his letter I thought this is just like what I read earlier!

seriously, though, one of his handles here was arrogant bastard. We've hardly spoken in 30 years but I think I know him well enough from childhood to read him fairly well. The driving force behind his rage is fear; near panic level fear. He's got a well settled, warm & rosey set of memories, false by omission, that allow him to live with the experience. He remembers singing zippety do dah & cum by yah but has completely blocked memories of the kid being beaten on the floor next to group. I think he's terrified of those memories.

It mostly seems like rather smart ideas except for the killing people part.

If you start at the begining, it just sounds like what alot of folks would agree with if they didn't know it was his manifesto.

I thought the same thing when I first read it years ago.So did my brother. Matter ouy fact, he called me up & said "Ging...he unabomber is Dad!" He was only half kidding. Fact is that if we're going to talk about dismantling the system, or making moves to hasten the downfall, part of that involves death & hardship to people dependent on it. Not just the 1%, either. Kaczynski talks about it in his interview w/ ELF. supply lines down & people starve, kill each other over food, can't get life sustaining medicines, etc. now, I'm not advocating intentional murder. I'm more inclined to advocate sustainable living & leave the downfall of the system to unfold on it's own.

Good to see that people are starting to recognize these thugs for what they are.

Damn, Liz! After all that, you must be one strong soul to be doing anything other than rocking in a corner somewhere! Sounds like you have your basic survival needs figured out. I don't know if anyone has a solid answer about the meaning of life. Most people either struggle with that one unless they just never wonder. But just founding & following your bliss is probably a good start &, for the first time you have the freedom to explore this world some. Find what you like & friends worthy of your interest & care. I don't know what interests you, but look around Maybe school. Maybe some kind of activism or volunteer activity will take you on a good path.
