Teen Challenge / Is Teen Challenge Concidering Your Town?
« on: July 18, 2007, 10:24:21 AM »
If so, each and every member of your community should be really worried about the kinds of criminals that may reside inside the unguarded Teen Challenge that wants to come to your town!!!   Both of the links to the  posts below show proof that violent and sexual criminals are allowed to go to Teen Challenge!

My new post is entitled- "Something to Really Think About!!!" which should be carefully read and carefully considered, especially if a Teen Challenge center wants to locate itself in your neighborhood!!!  The post  can be found here- http://http://teenchallengecult.blogspot.com/

That post also has a link to a previous post that I wrote, which is entitled- "Proof That Courts Are Sentencing People to Teen Challenge", which also lists the charges they were convicted with. You can find that post here- http://http://teenchallengecult.blogspot.com/2007/03/proof-that-courts-are-sentencing-people.html

NOTE:  The link to my most recent post also shows proof that Teen Challenge has been lying all along about being a drug & alcohol rehab.  The Teen Challenge director- Fred Lamberson III - said that the Teen Challenge facilities are Christian discipleships, not drug and alcohol programs.

Sure is odd that the judges and courtrooms across America haven't been informed of that fact!  How many other lies is Teen Challenge telling???

I am adding a link that I found at Find Law to show you just how long and complicated your case can become regarding the signing of a Parental Release of Liability Agreement. http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/g ... 24&invol=1

If that link doesn't take you directly to the case, I think you may first have to register at their site to review this case.  I am posting the specifics so you can find it just in case the link I posted doesn't take you directly to it-

Cooper v. Aspen Skiing Company.
Case No. 00SC885

SUPREME COURT, STATE OF COLORADO

Certiorari to the Colorado Court of Appeals

Court of Appeals Case No. 99CA187

Teen Challenge / Some Other Points to Ponder About Teen Challenge
« on: May 18, 2007, 07:34:04 PM »
"Who would criticize Teen Challenge? Well, former Teen Challenge prisoners for example. You might not have spoken with any others that Teen Challenge failed because they might be serving lengthy prison sentences for not conforming to the hard line Christian ideal."

"How about constitutionalists, libertarians, or anyone else who thinks the religious right has no business in our government? I would fall into that category. Teen Challenge could very well be in violation of Everson v. Board [/b] http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everson_v._Board_of_Education AND Lemon v. Kurtzman http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemon_v._Kurtzman ... Teen Challenge is only a court decision away from being banished..."

Teen Challenge / Teen Challenge and the faith based initiative.

The 28-page report that hanzomon4 referred us to is entitled- "The Texas Faith-Based Initiative at Five Years: Warning Signs as President Bush Expands Texas-style Program at National Level"

Here is an excerpt from page 10-

“Model” Faith-Based Treatment Center?

Teen Challenge Health & Safety Violations
(1995 state inspection immediately prior to deregulation under the Texas Faith-Based Initiative)

°  “No qualified credential counselors on staff.”

°  “No chemical dependency services are being provided.”

°  “No staff has current CPR and First-Aid training.  No policies on psychiatric or medical emergencies were found.”

°  “No documentation…[of the required] initial training for staff” on “client rights; client grievance procedures; confidentiality of client-identifying information; client neglect and exploitation; requirements for reporting neglect and other serious incidents; standards of conduct; emergency…procedures; and the individual’s specific job duties.”

°  “The present handling of medications at this facility are badly out of compliance.  No one we spoke to understood or delivered service according to the policy…standards.”

°  “Smoke detection alarm system inoperable.”

°  “Exposed wires and electrical outlets…missing bulbs, dangling light fixtures, and holes in ceilings near light fixtures.”

°  Violated requirement to “provide a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment.”

°  Violated food preparation requirements creating “a potential health hazard.”

°  Violated requirement to disclose client Bill of Rights and client grievance procedures.

°  Violated required admission criteria, intake consent procedures, treatment plans, discharge procedures and discharge follow-up.

°  Violated requirement that “the facility shall not exploit clients by using client labor inappropriately.”

      °  Violated incident reporting requirements.

°  Violated requirement to: “protect the health, safety, rights, and welfare or clients; provide adequate services…; comply with all applicable laws, regulation, policies, and procedures; maintain required licenses, permits, and credentials; and comply with professional and ethical codes of conduct.”

Note how George Bush makes this quote during that same year:

“Teen Challenge should view itself as pioneer in how Texas approaches faith-based programs.” -George W. Bush, July 1995

Another excerpt from that report-

"Without state inspections or high publicity cases like the Boys Ranch incident to shed light on Teen Challenge practices, it is impossible to know how many other health code infractions and dangerous policies are being implemented at these facilities."

FYI:

http://http://www.schaler.net/inthenews/washblade.html

"Texas Freedom Network, a 23,000-member non-partisan grassroots watchdog group based in Austin conducted a five-year study of the policy and found, “As exempt faith-based drug treatment centers, [such] facilities are not required to have licensed chemical dependency counselors, conduct staff training or criminal background checks, protect client confidentiality rights, adhere to state health and safety standards, or report abuse, neglect, emergencies and medication errors.”
