Hero,

I understand what you are saying.  It took me a long time to talk about my experiences at vca.  When I did, people would look at me like, "Are you serious?".  It's hard to explain, and sometimes it's just better not to.

Although it's not good to just sit here and cry about ourselves, I think what betty277 is saying is right.  Unless the right people know what is happening behind those closed doors of behavior mod. "schools" (lol, I said school), nothing will ever change.

Just thought you might want to know . . .

J

BTW, there is a group you might consider joining, we are all fighting for the same thing, and there is strength in numbers.

Unfortunately, I wasn't the only child in my family that was sent away during that period of my family's life, so it's kind of hard for me to believe it was all me.  (There were four girls, now they are down to two.)  Either way, I still ended up at the same exact place as you.  It happened and it's over.

What we, the former students who post on this board are doing, is letting our voices be heard.  We are tired of keeping quiet,  "Death to quiet time!", as one poster put it. You no longer have to be silent about your "school days" at any behavior modification program.

I am not going to treat you disrespectfully about your statement, but I do want you to know that some might consider what you just posted to be very offensive.  I will ask you one time to try to refrain from assuming anything about anyone.

BTW, just because you chose to reveal your skeletons in a public forum, does not mean I care to. If you would like to contact me by email, I would have no problem responding to any of your  questions.

As it so happens, I can afford to pay somebody else to watch my son while I am researching or otherwise disposed.  Ever heard of a nanny?  Is this a foreign concept to you?  My children are very well taken care of, wherever I happen to be at the moment. Thanks for your concern.

Interesting how you need to mention something totally off the subject to get a word in edgewise.  Enough with the program-ese, why not speak on the subject?  Instead, you choose to post about me, one person.  I guess I am just that important.

You are correct in stating this cause is very important to me.  Right now, as we sit in our comfortable homes, children are imprisioned in these schools.  No one will listen to their stories.  I believe in supporting these students and showing them they are not alone.

What's your motivation for reading/posting here?

I know you cannot begin to think your post was the least bit "Christian".  You say you enjoyed the school so much, but it doesn't appear as though it helped you with your insensitivity issues.  Looks like you are still behaving under that assumption that the world revolves around you and your perceptions.  Get with A program.  Choose well, and be committed

christa?

they all came through the school while i was there.  they were all married, but from what i hear, mike jr. has divorced debbie.  i wonder why? i really liked her.

the palmer's kids helped do various things like cooking, friday night planning or landscaping.  that's pretty much all we saw of them.  the kids seemed to be "in charge" of the relationship between parents and children.  i seriously doubt they were treated as vca/gbs students are.

from what i hear, things have gotten worse for the girls at vca/gbs.  i attended in 92-94, and aside from certain things, it seems like a cake-walk compared to what the girls talk about today.  very sick stuff. :scared:

are the majority of palmer's recruits still from california?

To The Reformed "Lying Whore":

How dare you compare ANYTHING to the Holocaust?  You sick freak!  I happen to BE Jewish, and some of my family members WERE taken off to concentration (labor) camps while others were killed.  What a discusting comparison you used.  Are you really that hateful?  Or just extremely uneducated? :flame:

And for your own personal information, he things you mention did happen to girls in these programs.  Girls in both GBS and VCA were dragged, tackled, and YES, sexually abused.  You are reading a post from one right now.  I noticed you needed to type "repeatedly" in front of raped.  Does the amount of times lighten or worsen the crime?

Save your silly rantings for a board who really gives a damn.  Those of us who post here are dedicated to moving passed that time; we just have different ways of wading through all of the BS.

Isn't that interesting how this "anon" decided to quit posting?  What happened?  Nothing more to say?  Found something better to do? Still don't have the balls to say your name?

"let me say something to you... i dont appreciate you talking smack of brother palmer... i know for fact that you are nothing but a person that is very bitter and full of lies..and yanno what the people that knows brother palmer and the staff there and even the girls know that your words are all lies.so what a few of you girls get your feathers ruffled and so you find it that you need to bash people.you know if your words were truth brother palmer wouldnt be where hes at today.so do whatever you feel that you need to do and yanno what the truth always prevails..We all know the truth now don't we? and one more thing,, i will see to it that this nonsense of this posting of all your lies will be stopped.. you better think twice of all the slander a few of you have created....Just remember what goes around comes around...May God Bless Each and EveryOne Of You."[ This Message was edited by: princessjenn007 on 2004-10-05 08:54 ]

Can we get a round of applause for the obvious graduate of the critically acclaimed "Ace School of Tomorrow"?  Just reading your post makes my heart swell with pride.  I have great faith in that school system and am proud to be in the same category as such a scholar. :wstupid:

Right.

BTW, because of the arrogance and misspellings of this "anon", my educated guess: it's Betty Browne herself.  The queen of terrible punishments and condescending remarks.

It really doesn't take that long to sign in and post.  Unless you are scared . . .

no julie, i don't remember you, but my memory is very bad.  Especially around VCA time.  I guess I just "forgot" :???:  i left in october of 94. send me a private email.

Lets clear up a few things.  This "anonymous" is not a staff member, there is no way they would say "talking smack" and sound so silly.  Don't front, no one's scared.

Just for definition's sake, a "few" is 3-4 girls, not 25-40, that have all been there at different times, and none of whom know each other.

And where is Palmer?  Under investigation.  Great place to be.  Funny thing- that's where he stays, in trouble with some governing body or another.

If you believed and took part in vca, you would have said, "you reap what you sow".  what kind of victory girl are you?

good luck with all those unresolved issues.  ::boohoo:: if you feel like talking about them, visit the yahoo group.  you know how to get there.
