Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Long time no see
« on: October 21, 2015, 12:33:02 PM »
Hey everyone.  Bet you'd never see me here again, huh?

Just wanted to touch base with you all.  I've been keeping busy. For those not on Facebook with me, let me catch you up.

My wife of 15 years, divorced me back in Oct 2013. To be honest it was for the best. She and I weren't getting along too well for the last three years.  A few years before that I left my job at Rural/Metro to work for another company that has a better reputation and equipment.  I've been at Patient Transport Services for almost 7 years now.  I can also tell you that I am so much better off being single.  I became debt free back in February and I'm not looking back. Thankfully, my step daughters Courtney (26) and Stacy (24) sill want me in their lives and I see them as often as I can.  I also get to see my grandchildren, Madison (9) and Owen (6) when ever I want.  So grateful for that because I really believe that if they'd ever push me out of their lives, I wouldn't be here today.

A few months ago my employer strongly suggested that I and my coworkers become duel certified in Kentucky as EMT/Paramedics.  I have been studying my butt off for the National Registry.  My exam is set for November 5.

Once that is done and out of the way I will be spending the next year or so publishing the book I wrote back in 2004 called America's Most Controversial Drug Rehab.

I attended my first ever Straight Reunion on Oct 3.  I HAD A BLAST.  It was nice to see familiar faces and meet some new people too.  It was a great success.  I can't wait til next years reunion.

Straight Inc. Alumni is still up and running, but much like this site, it's not nearly as busy as it was a few years ago.  Hard to believe it's been almost 16 years since I started that site. www.straightincalumni.com

Well, that's it for now.  Hope you're all having a great week.

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Robert Gould
« on: August 08, 2006, 07:49:39 AM »
When I was on 4th & 5th Phase in Cincinnati I worked as a Grounds Keeper for a multi-millionaire named Robert Gould.  He owned the Milford Shopping Center (Oh the irony that's coming out now between he and Mel) He also owned the JTS Brown Distillery.

This question got me wondering if this man made finacial contibutions to Cincinnati Straight while in operation.  I wonder if there is a way to find out?  Robert died in 1985.

Wes? Any one?

Just FYI Jerry is the guy in the background in the green shirt, not the guy throwing the ball.  He looks about the same, although he has gained some weight.

Last I heard she was killed after reuniting with her biker buddies.  Not sure how she died, killed in accident or what.

Is her last name Copeland? Where is she living?

She made my 1st phase a living hell!!  :flame:

You can e-mail me at [email protected] if you want.

I'm not putting a lot of stock in that story.  If the idiot writing it can't even spell Defense correctly, why read the rest?

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Does anyone remember Jeff Leugers?
« on: January 22, 2006, 09:18:00 PM »
One of the things I remember about Jeff was his ability to just cut loose.  He danced for the group to the song Mr. BoJangels, he was so funny.  Everytime I hear that song I think of Jeff and brings a smile to my face.

He was loved by a lot of people and I miss him too.  Once in a while I'll visit his grave as it is on my way to work.

I remember Jeff very well.  He was a Junior staffer when I 7th Stepped.

He was in the Cincinnati program, but I believe he also did a start over program in St. Pete in 83.

How are his parents?  Do you have an e-mail address for them?  You can e-mail me privately if you'd like.

Just the one in Ohio, however I will be making a video of it and at some point will pass it on to someone who can make multiple copies in both VHS and DVD versions.

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / NEWS FLASH
« on: November 10, 2005, 06:50:00 AM »
Attention Fellow Survivors of straight inc and its spinoff programs:

On Sunday November 13 at 11PM, Channel 9 (WCPO) in Cincinatti will
air a story about kids helping kids. This is the first report based
on over 10 months of investigations and complaints supported by
documents and testimonials supplied by ISAC Corporation and victims
of abuse at khk. Hagit Limor is the WCPO I-Team reporter who will
anchor the story. It is supposed to be 7 minutes long and concentrate
on the khk facility. We will have to wait and see what the content
is, however, it is said to be "compelling", and that if given enough
popularity, may involve more stories in the future. Hagit said that
she could have done a 6 hour documentary on this issue, however, the
station only gave her 7 minutes this time. It's a great start either
way. Please take 5 minutes to send her an email about your thoughts
regarding the straight inc treatment model. If she gets enough email
about this story, the chances greatly increase that there will be
future reports that go into more detail. The ISAC
investigation/complaint process of khk is ongoing at this time. To
anyone who gets Channel 9 please tape this show if at all possible...
It will be available online through an internet video link as well.
Just go to http://www.wcpo.com and click on I Team - kids helping kids... If
a more specific link becomes available, it will be provided ASAP.
