If I recall correctly, there was no Straight St. Pete. Oh, and none of us exist either. Would you like a tin foil hat?

Read Help at any Cost and that should clear up your questions by the end of the second chapter.

It was the Rayhall building, just north of of Tyrone Blvd, and Park Street Intersection. Excact address I am less sure of. I was in the building directly across the street. For a long time it was owned by Silor Optical, as to who owns it now...I dunno. The building you refer and the one I was in still remain. I have seen them from the road. If ya stick around ya may see a guy with the moniker "85 DayJerk" he has a phenominal memory of the details...where my memory is more like swiss cheese.

If ya do get the exact street address...do a "Google Earth" on it...It's freaky to see it again...from a satelite.

Helen Peterman as you mentioned basically ran the show at the time. There was a executive director, a guy by the name of Jim Hartz. He was more of a figure head and had lil to do with us in group. I remember alot of people from that time, but unfortunatly I do not recall thier names.

I remember some of the physical stuff brought over from the Rayhall Building. One of the big things was called "running". This was done by holding or being held by the pants and literally run around the inside of the building untill you dropped. This was also done in the Milton Roy building for  a few months but was eventually phased out.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier...I had started it in notepad and got distracted. Hopefully ya will come back and read your post, because I won't e-mail anyone untill such time as that I know them better.

Yeah, there was a falling out between Sembler and Rahall, or simply the fact that Rahall sold Channel 10 and WLCY Studios.  Whatever the reasons, the program was moved across the was to the Milton Roy Corporation building.  The building had previously manufactured water valve and water meter equipment.  Milton Roy housed the largest group in Florida history.  It was also the last building to hold outdoor raps.  Because of the huge size of the group, lunches were pre-made sandwiches wrapped in cheap ass sandwich bags and frozen.  From there, they would be taken to the building and placed in a large storage freezer that opened from the top.  As the sandwich stock was depleted, kitchen help had to bend over way far to get to the ones on the bottom and in the back and "swim" for them, discarding the ones that were severely water-logged.  They were henceforth to be known as "SWIMMERS" and to this very day, I cannot eat bread once it has become wet.

As for the address of Milton Roy Corp. just put Sheen Drive in a map search of St. Petersburg and unless the building has been subdivided, that is the address you shall find.  There is only one Sheen Drive in all of St. Pete, so it is pretty simple to find really.

85DJ, remember the chunks of balogna we had more months, These were literally scraps from a meat packing plant. One of the girls father owned the sluaghter house. Remember I had a guy at my house that had a major connection to Tropicanna and we had thousands of miniture canasters of OJ, god how many of them were always sour....digusting.

From what I understand (which is undoubtedly woefully incomplete), there were three Rahall brothers who were involved together in various enterprises in the "communications industry," and at least two of whom appear to have had some involvement with Straight. They originally hailed from West Virginia.

I'm guessing that Sam G. Rahall was the one most involved, given that he was on Straight's BOD, but perhaps I'm wrong? How many Rahall kids went through the program?
