In my view every young person who ever went through the doors of AARC is a victim of Vause. However, many of them are hostile and some actually dangerous.  A few nasty postings on a web forum is not dangerous activity, but the content of some, like the above is mean-spirited and rude, no matter how impotent.

As to your question "so what?", one of the staff members to whom I referred earlier was involved in the coercion of my friend to recant an accusation of abuse in one of the host homes.  Years after my friend's graduation, this counselor acknowledged that my friend's assault was irrelevant to her recanting.  Specifically, my friend had been bitten on the face, yet this was dismissed as self-mutilation in order to cover up the abuses inherent in a program of sending kids into the homes that have produced extremely self-destructive children. So yes, some of us are wrong in how we live if we assault kids or force kids to lie to cover up serious problems.  The suicides, the lack of staff accreditation, the vast amounts of money that went into a program run out of a warehouse beside a seismic yard with no medical staff and no residential facilities; all of these things are real and not a matter of opinion.

He does not have a doctorate in physical education.  He has an undergrad degree in phys. ed. and history from Saskatchewan.  He has piece of paper that says he is a PhD from a business that was not an accredited college called the Union Institute of Cincinatti.  His mentor in cult leadership, Miller Newton, also has a piece of paper from this non-college. In order to get a doctorate at an accredited university in Canada, you would have to do a dissertation in a field in which you have academic qualifications.  Mr. Vause attended something called colloquiums for a few days, and that was apparently sufficient for the Union Institute to give him one of their PhD papers.  As to the psychologist handle, are you saying that he can lie verbally, but if he writes it down it's fraud?

News Items / big words and mean scared people

Hi, Jay
People use big words because language helps us to express ideas.  If you don't have many ideas, or your ideas are simple, then simple words will do.  If you like reading the posts, then why would you say that they bored you?  That is a contradiction.  That's two things that are the opposite of one another.  Perhaps your mom was confused and thus scared by big words because she didn't know any.  Anyhow, if you're not angry, then why have you insulted the other posts by calling them pointless?  Also, stating that these posters have no balls also sounds angry.  Why so angry?  It seems odd that your friend CL would have to come to a forum for people who talk about their experiences at AARC to ask you about your bike.  I would call or write or even personally speak to my friends about bikes and such. Perhaps CL has no friends and thus has a private discussion publicly to give the impression that he is not friendless.  Jay, you  and CL seem like two confused young people.

Perhaps you could take some of the profits and invest in some spelling lessons.  I'm curious as to why you would read and post here if you have such disdain for others who do the same.  Are you lonely?  Are you compensating for a weak and damaged personality by anonymously taking potshots at people with enough courage to live their lives without relying on a perverse cult? Just curious.

Some very curious gaps in logic displayed in js and david's posts.  Our society is not as litigious as that in the United States.  In the US, Miller Newton was frequently sued, and both Straights and Kids in the various forms were repeatedly shut down.  Vause's links to Newton and thus Kids and the Straights is indisputable. The continuous thread through all of this is that some AARC clients will vouch for the institution, and the fact that Vause's PHD comes from Newton Miller's non-accredited alma mater, and that the methods employed at AARC have been deemed to be brain-washing, and that terrible abuses have occurred in the host homes don't matter.  It doesn't matter to the pro-AARC posters that AARC doesn't have a psychiatrist, nor that the counsellors have in general no recognized, specialized training.  They are able to employ the famous Catch-22: If you're bad, you won't believe in AARC.  If you don't believe in AARC, you're bad.

I have a close friend who was in AARC for an extended period. This person is a graduate.  On two occasions we have encountered former staffers in public, once in a mall and once in a grocery store.  On both occasions, immediately upon recognizing my friend, the staffers became visibly agitated and fled. The condescending tone I have witnessed from pro-AARC posters is disturbing in light of the indisputable proof that Vause falsely calls himself a psychologist, the indisputable links between Vause, the Union Institute and Miller Newton, and Newton's verifiably criminal practices.
