This is still great news. I saw it in the Drug War Chronicle http://stopthedrugwar.org/chronicle/354/mexico.shtml

Of course better news would have been that the Mexican police had raided the place, taken the kids to the American Consulate for repatriation and arrested the staff members. Then a few months later WWASP cries foul that dozens of its staff members have not been accounted for and there are mysteriously fresh looking holes a few miles from the CASA facility.

When you think about it, this just reinforces the kind of divisive cult experience on the family

Basically if the kid wants to sue the escorts he is in effect suing his own parents which would probably make it harder to reconcile with them even if he wants to later.

Any lawyers out there that can tell us whether an agreement to pay the legal fees of an escort company is valid? I know there are some aspects of law where someone promises to pay the debts (legal fees) of another that have a lot of extra rules and restrictions.

I do agree however that this is definitely a good way for a kid to get back at parents that still believe in the program bs. By suing the escorts, and I would imagine that many programs have this clause as well in their enrollment contracts, the kid is effectively suing his own parents because they will be the ones held responsible for the legal costs. I guess this means a parent better make a good choice in escort companies and programs because if the kid decides to sue when he is an adult its the parents who foot the bill. Of course if parents are paying the legal fees, they may have the ultimate right to decide to settle or fight. Any lawyer opinions on this?

I hope she sues them for violating their so called confidentiality. Its a good thing they didn't get in her head cause you can be sure their family probably would have used their considerable power and money to make sure those CEDU assholes would be in their own dark hole somewhere.

I must admit a sudden new found respect for Paris Hilton. Not much but its a start. I can at least respect that she is smart enough to know she does not have to pretend as if she wants to have a "normal" career. She knows she does not have to work if she does not want to and quite frankly, why work when you are that rich?

As for not letting them get inside my head, I can do that just fine. Strength of will is not really the issue for me. However if they think they are gonna spend the days beating the crap out of me then a staff member is going to get a pencil shoved through their eye when they least expect it.

 Kill one mindrapist and its a crime, kill a million mindrapists and its a statistic.

Anyone with authority over another, especially a so called child who abuses it in this manner ought to be hanged. Our society has a lot of problems. Oh well, someday those guards are gonna run into someone they abused who is probably by that point a complete sociopath. Revenge is a dish best served cold. I would suggest a few ways that those people should die but I am sure their victims will have plenty of time to plan it.

Well at least its an A Felony in Texas. They are going to jail for long time if they are convicted.

Personally I think child abuse resulting in death, permanent injury or over a long period of time should be eligible for the death penalty. What these guys need is a short trial and a long rope.

Parents already commit crimes by sending their kids to be abused. Its called due diligence. The law is nearly impossible to enforce because the kids lack the right to even write a letter to a lawyer and ask for help.

What needs to be reformed are the rights of kids. No involuntary commitment without a fair hearing.
Free and unmonitored communication with a lawyer, parents, and anyone else while they are committed.
 
Mandatory Mininum of 5 years prison time for anyone who misrepresents an unlicensed "treatment" center as just a boarding school or any other common child care business such as a summer camp whether through advertising, referrals, or by lying on state licensing/registration documents.

Specific provisions should be included that make the owner/operator and/or all members of the board personally liable for criminal activity on the part of the facility and staff. That means if that program operators will closely monitor everything because it is their ass on the line.

Licensing for all programs, strict requirements, random inspections, instant termination of license power given to the inspectors. Inspectors should be able to instantly suspend the license of any program for 30 days and pull all the kids out. This power should be protected from all judicial injunctions until a hearing. That means no program owned judges can issue injunctions to keep the inspectors from shutting down an abusive program.

Thats what these programs charge. Figure that at most it costs maybe 1k a month for the kids room and maybe another 500 for food maximum. That leaves 3500 some of which goes to insurance and most of it probably just ends up in the guys pocket.

Also along with the passive resistance thing, I hear that singing a song in your head is a good way to ignore just about anything. They can be yelling at you and you just space out with your song all the time. I guess its like counting the ceiling tiles but perhaps a bit less boring.

The violent route could work well if the place can't get much worse. If I were in some WWASP hell hole I would just be so dangerous they couldn't keep me. I'd stab a staff guy with a pencil or pen or the nurse with a thermometer. Any staff member is fair game. Fight to maim, go for the eyes, the chest, the throat.

The people who just struggle and fight all the time and get restrained just end up getting beat up a lot from the accounts I have read here. On the other hand a person willing to maim just for spite with no warning or provacation (other than being held prisoner) is just more trouble than the $5k a month is worth.  

This may seem sick, I have not been around the boards as much and I think that anger is rekindling itself about this industry again.

Its true Bartleby and Cool Hand Luke didn't survive but Bartleby died because he gave up on life. No one was really hurting him. Luke was imprisoned by the state, a program can't kill you for attempting escape.

Personally, if it were some kind of wildnerness program I would just refuse to hike. Passive resistance until they kicked me out. If it was some kind of lockdown or cult indoctrination center, fuck em, I am walking out of there and the first one who tries to stop me is gonna be called one eyed jack before they can pile on me. They can't keep me and prosecute me for assault so they gotta choose between being eye gouged one at a time or exposing their operation in a trial or kicking me out of the program.
