I remember my friends playing a Plasmatics tape in the Mustang we used to ride around in back in 1981..

I remember listening to "Beyond the Valley of 1984" pre-Straight.  Loved the spoken word intro to "A Pig Is A Pig".

One of the suicide notes Wendy left read as follows:
"The act of taking my own life is not something I am doing without a lot of thought. I don't believe that people should take their own lives without deep and thoughtful reflection over a considerable period of time. I do believe strongly, however, that the right to do so is one of the most fundamental rights that anyone in a free society should have. For me much of the world makes no sense, but my feelings about what I am doing ring loud and clear to an inner ear and a place where there is no self, only calm. Love always, Wendy."

Wendy asked that no flowers be sent, but those who would like to make a donation in her memory can do so to: The Quiet Corner Wildlife Center, 109 Ashford Center Road, Ashford, CT 06276.

Been burning up a Motorhead live CD the past few days, right before the song "Mo Class", Lemmy dedicates it to Wendy, calling her "a good friend of mine, and she was also a good friend of yours....".  The show was a couple of weeks after her suicide.

I saw them on the TV show "Solid Gold" one time, they chainsawed a guitar.  Also remember a cool "Rockline" interview with her where she ragged on a caller who told her that she had no reespect for American or Xtian "values".  She said something like "if you wanna be a conformist so mom and dad will let you use the car on weekends you're lame" or something like that.  Later that week, a 'druggie friend' said similar shit and how if he did whatever, "he would NEVER get to use the car".  Later on, this guy ended up running through the neighborhood and sniffing flowers in a friend's grandmother's garden while completely naked. (probably from mixing LSD with Christian Science)  He became a real religious nut, passing out flyers at rock shows warning of Satan's influence in rock and roll.  Wendy was right, he was really lame.

Typo:  The song is called "No Class".

Wendy was on Solid Gold? Holy shit! I vaguely remember that show as a little kid. I thought it was hosted by Dionne Warwick and had mostly R&B on it. Am I remembering the right show?

Yeah, that's the show, had the dancers in hot pants.  They did "Black Leather Monster", Wendy was wearing a headband with a rhino horn on it, it was fucking nuts.  They chainsawed a guitar during the song.  The studio audience pretty much hated them, as did my little brother who watched it with me.
